Sweet and Unfortunate

It was an ordinary day for Geale, but apparently a special one for Serena because she walked into the restaurant for her shift with a bag filled with boxes of sweet, smelling desserts called 'cupcakes' - gooey, chocolate ones to be more specific.

"It's to celebrate my first month," she explained as she handed Tia, Quin and Marnthe one each. "Thank you so much for giving me a chance to work with you and helping me survive my first month here. I look forward to working with you longer."

"Thank you, that's very sweet of you," Quin replied. "Though I think this should be given when you pass your probationary period," he muttered, earning him a nudge from Marnthe who was standing next to him behind the bar counter.

"Thank you, Serena. You've done really well on your first month," Marnthe said, smiling at her. "Let's continue to work well together."

"Are these the baked goodies you've been teasing us about?" Tia asked, seated next to Geale at the counter.
