"You're sure you can do all of this on your own?" Quin asked after hearing the breakdown of Marnthe's itinerary for the day. He arrived early in the morning just as Marnthe told Geale. He even arrived earlier than Tia, who was the early bird in the lunch service staff.
Quin turned to Geale. "I taught you how to make coffee, right? Make one for me."
"Why should I?" Geale scoffed.
"Because I asked. Please."
Geale rolled his eyes but got behind the bar to do as he requested. It made Marnthe chuckle.
"You haven't answered my question," Quin snapped at Marnthe.
"After the third time you asked it?" Marnthe sighed.
"Yes. Think of it as a multi-factor authentication."
"A what?" Geale asked, looking up from his task.
"An added layer of confirmation to make sure he can really handle this errand on his own," Quin explained.
"I'm not a toddler, Quin," Marnthe scoffed.
"Of course you're not a toddler. You're worse than one. Need I remind you about the time when you-"
