There was no hesitation in Marnthe's response. He didn't seem to regret it either. Fai expected him to flush and act shy at the question, but he responded confidently to her question.

She heard from Ainsely that Geale was planning to ask Quin if Marnthe was into diamonds. It apparently stemmed from Tia and Serena teasing the young man about proposing to Marnthe.

And since the conversation veered toward the future, Fai decided to fish for some information that might help Geale…or in this case, break his heart.

"I guess I get it," Fai sighed, looking away. "You two have only been with each other for a few months. I'm glad you're officially together now though. I was afraid you would never open your heart again."

"I didn't think I would either."

"But if you've been together for a year or more, would you be open to growing old with him?"
