Chapter 172: Unrealistic Recovery

The stylish decor, the cool and refreshing presence she felt were merely the few things that her eyes drunk in as they walked through the empty halls. They came to the end of the hall as a magnificent door was presented to them.

She was bewildered why Arabella stood, unmoving as if she was in a trance however to her surprise, another figure managed to appear next to them. She failed to sense any form of threat from her.

A lady in purple appeared in front of the two. Her eyes seemed majestic with swirls lying beneath them. Her body however wasn't made of flesh but rather a substance Lirien couldn't understand. She seemed humane however what made her stand out to Lirien was that she didn't have a heartbeat.

She had a voluptuous frame which was further accentuated by the clothes she had on. Her frame resounded majesty and glamour as she looked at the two in front of her.

A small smile appeared on Arabella's face. "Hello Ophelia." She spoke warmly. Ophelia looked at the two with a warm smile. "Welcome back Miss Arabella." She said before her attention shifted to Lirien.

"It would seem that you have successfully completed your mission." She added on. "It is very nice to meet you Miss Lirien." Lirien was slightly apprehensive of Ophelia.

Not only could she not sense anything off her but also she was at an extreme disadvantage as she felt restricted, be it using mana or her soul state. But seeing that Ophelia had no ill intentions, she could only reciprocate.

"It is very nice to meet you as well. Miss Ophelia." She said with a soft smile beaming on her face. "Hahaha." Ophelia gave off a slight chuckle. "Please, you don't have to call me miss. My name alone is enough."

"Very well." Lirien addressed as Ophelia shifted her gaze back to Arabella. "Very well, let's go in." She mused as she took the lead as the door opened on its own and the three were exposed to a huge room.

Ophelia stood to the side as she introduced the two to those seated on the throne. Lirien was able to distinguish Ashley however what took her by surprise was how obscene she was at the moment.

Her figure was seated on Andrew's lap as she buried her face deep in his embrace. She had never seen this side of her which was docile and calm. She was usually used to her cold and aloof side of her.

The one she was seated on had a small smile as his jade green eyes landed on the two. "Thank you Ophelia, you may leave." Ophelia made a small bow before her figure disappeared once more.

Ashley realizing that she had guest shifted her attention back to the two. "Nice work Arabella." She praised Arabella as her gaze finally landed on Lirien.

"Lirien. It seems that you were able to accomplish your task. Good work." Her tone lacked the interest and intrigue making it come off as thanking air. Despite that, she knew that showing her actual emotions was a fast way of her meeting her death.

"Thank you, Miss Ashley." She commented before her eyes landed on Andrew. "Miss Lirien, it's still me. Orsen." Andrew's visage transformed from his to Orsen's and back to Andrew's.

'So it wasn't a shapeshifter or a demon.' She thought which resulted with a small laugh coming from Andrew. "Please don't be so comical, Lirien." Realizing that even he could peer into his thoughts, her mind fell silent.

"I hope however you understand as to why I gave you another chance. As for your soul devouring skill, the slime should counter it and decided to heal your soul from the poison that was plaguing you."

Lirien was baffled that he was capable of all of that however she knew that him helping in such a manner wasn't out of good will in the slightest. "As for your purpose here, I want you to help Arabella with a small objective. She'll fill you in with that but first, your transplant."

"Transplant?" She wasn't aware of such a word. "Ophelia will guide you with that. In the meantime, feel free to use the facilities present and in future cases, feel free to devour to your content regardless of race." He joked.

"Thank you, Andrew." She thanked him with a small bow. She was already aware of who was in control of everything here. "That is all. I'll see you ladies later."

*Whoosh*

The duo seated at the throne vanished from her sight leaving the two alone before Ophelia's image flashed once more. "Very well, please hold my hand." Ophelia stretched out her hand to Lirien.

She seemed somewhat hesitant but gifted her hand to her.

*Whoosh*

The two disappeared leaving Arabella who took her leave shortly after.

...

Within a pristine white room, Lirien's figure was laid naked on a flat bed which was covered by a sheet. She seemed tense tense of what was about to transpire. Ophelia appeared once more with her hands in surgical gloves.

She had a small smile as she marked Lirien's head with a marker before a mechanical arm appeared above her face. "You have no need to be tense, Miss Lirien. It will all be over before you know it."

She convinced her as she Lirien's eyes grew hazy by the second. 'Wait! The entire air...' Before she could proceed with her thought, she fell unconscious on the table.

*Two Hours Later*

Her figure shot up as she looked around. She noticed the lavish furniture however at the moment, something more pressing was in her mind. She closed her eyes as she got a layout of the place in her mind.

'What?'

A holographic image appeared which listed all the activities that she could engage herself in. From leisurely activities to training as she took note of a particular place.

*Knock-Knock-Knock*

She waited for an answer to which Arabella's figure appeared however she wasn't in her usual black slime but rather a casual light t-shirt and some indoor shorts. She seemed bewildered as she looked at Lirien.

"Hello? Can I assist you with anything?" She posed as she welcomed her in her room. Lirien took a step in to which a variety shades of pink greeted her. From deep to light.

She noticed bizarre kinds of technology which took her by surprise but what she found strange was that she knew what they were and how they operated. "So you're finally done with your transplant. At first it is a little disorienting but it will fade in a matter of time."

She mused as she welcomed Lirien down to have a seat. Her demeanor seemed extremely different in comparison to the first time she had met her.

The background was consisted of a large sunset which seemed rather realistic with an atmospheric mood playing faintly in the background. It was extremely peaceful and calm.

Another android came over as it delivered tea for the two before leaving. Unlike Ophelia, it lacked any outstanding features however its movements were refined.

"It's rather easy to use the chip implanted in your brain." Arabella mused as she took a light sip of her tea. "See." She mused as the decor and arrangement of the room changed to her whim, everything became a had other shades of color before reverting back to pink.

"You can do the same in your room not to mention you are able to teleport while in here. Not to mention the training facilities are something that the outside world would go crazy for."

As if Arabella had made her recall something, Lirien asked out of curiosity. "Speaking of training, which tier are you in?" Arabella who was casually seeping on her tea looked at Lirien in amusement.

"I'm on the sixth tier however I plan on breaking into the seventh tier by the end of the week." Lirien grew wary as she heard this. "But don't worry, it's not like I'll kill you, the chip will do that in a matter of microseconds."

"Of course provided you do whatever you are required of, you'll be okay. Speaking of training, I might as well show you. If you want to teleport around, just imagine the room you want to be in within the image in your head and you'll appear in it."

"You can also do it even if you aren't in the dome." Arabella mused with a smile on her face as her image vanished from her sight.

Heeding to what she had just said, she decided to put it into thought as she could sense where Arabella was. Closing her eyes, she tried hard and to her wish...

"You see, it's not that hard." Arabella mused as the two stood right in front of huge door. Unlike the one from earlier, this one seemed less majestic and more rudimentary and reinforced.

Arabella's figure was coated with a black slime similar to Lirien's however hers had faint white lines running across it. "You devour souls. Well I control shadows. It may sound basic however it is rather potent."

She mused as the two had a biometric scan from head to toe. The doors proceeded to open and the two were exposed to a near infinite white room. She was shocked with how long it seemed to stretch out.

"Something to do with nanotechnology and space dilation was Ophelia's answer when I asked her. But first, I have to see how good you actually are." Arabella adopted a fighting stance to which Lirien caught on.

Lirien adopted a fighting stance as well with two daggers coming into her hands. Arabella remained barefisted as she clenched her fists and in a flash, her figure moved.

"Hah!" Lirien barely dodged it as she was shocked how much power was behind it. "Thanks to the slime, I won't have to worry about you dying." She laughed manically as she made her advances.

A tight confrontation ensued as the two ladies were locked in a tight fight. Arabella had the speed and agility while Lirien had the foresight after all she had been exposed to combat for a longer duration than Arabella.

*BAM*

Arabella connected a fist to her chest which managed to shatter her ribs and rupture her heart leaving a gaping hole. She retreated in worry as she saw this however she didn't feel any looming threat of danger.

In an instant, the injury was instantly healed which was a strange scene for her. If such an attack had been delivered to her, it could have been considered rather fatal and yet it was healed in a matter of minutes.

"See, you'll be fine so don't hold back!" Arabella pointed out as she charged even faster towards Lirien. Realizing that she truly nothing to worry about, a slight smile formed on her face as she looked at Arabella.

"Let's see how good you really are!" She gave off a maniacal laughter which fueled both their need to fight. The sounds of flesh ripping apart could be heard resonating through the room.

The fight was extremely unsightly to watch however the participants seemed thrilled to keep on going regardless of how much they got injured. The more they got hurt, the faster they healed.

Wanting to bring this fight to an end, Lirien struck forward with her right arm in a hook to which Arabella dodged to her left as expected however crazed in her state, she raised her leg high which connected with her neck cracking it.

Several arteries were ruptured however a smile was on her face. Using her left arm which glowed brightly, she moved her left arm towards her chest. Realizing her predicament, her figure became hazy and the attack went right through her.

Her movement seemed to be increased drastically as she cracked her neck back in place, delivered a fist straight to her face forcing her to swallow a couple of teeth and shattering her nose.

Before she could hit the ground, Arabella kicked Lirien's leg exposing her marrow bent in the other way and with her back now exposed, she punched with her elbow which shattered her spine making her crash hard into the ground.

For Lirien however, all of this happened in the span of a second as her figure fell to the floor. Her entire being was wrapped in slime for an instant before she rose to the ground.

"What was that?" She asked in bewilderment. Arabella had already retreated back stepping out of her hazy shadowy state. "What? Didn't you see it coming?" She laughed as she glanced at Lirien's puzzled face.
