Taking Back What's Mine

The incessant ringing of my phone woke me up on Monday morning. I groaned in Lucian's arms, relishing his body heat, wishing I didn't have to get up.

But my phone wouldn't stop ringing.

I reached for it atop the dresser, albeit a sigh and stared at the caller. It was an unknown number. It was 6 a.m. I could hardly think of anyone who would call me so early in the morning. Unless it was utterly important.

I answered the call tentatively and raised my phone to my ear slowly.

"Hello?"

"Good morning Mrs. Juniper," a cheery voiced called. "This is Miranda from Keller Real Estate Holdings. We met the other day, when you barged into my boss's office."

"Oh." I tried to remember her. "You are Orion's secretary?"

"Yes ma'am. And I'm calling in respect of your new position at the firm. There's a general board meeting at 9 a.m. and mr. Keller would like to get a chance to introduce you officially to the team. Can you be here by 8?
