Chapter 18

"I want you to know that reality is fucked."

I say this as I walk back into the room, crossing "GRAVITY" off the black board.

"Oh, is it now?"

"No, like, it's fuuuuuuccccked. Like, I just broke gravity."

"What?!"

"Yeah, I made a ball stay up in the air for like half a minute."

"No fucking way."

"Yes fucking way."

"I don't believe you. You can't just walk out of this room for half an hour and just say you broke gravity."

"Are you, of all people, really doubting me? You can survive a fucking bomb."

"Okay, first, we don't actually know that for certain. Second, I have powers; there's a difference between my level of impossible and your level of I just casually gained superpowers that achieved the exact goal I wanted."

"You don't have to believe me. I'm just telling you another step has been completed. The job is halfway done."

"And this levitating ball, you saw it?"

"Yes."

"There weren't any wires attached or some other rational explanation?"

"Nope, I even checked that. I was gonna take video, but it fell back to the ground when I took out my phone."

"So… only you saw this, and when you tried to capture video proof, it suddenly went back to normal?"

"Look, I'm not crazy. I just seem to have bad luck with obtaining proof of the impossible. Don't ask me to reproduce it for you either, it's extremely temperamental."

"And, have you happened to see any other temperamental things? Things that are beyond explanation that only you happen to see?"

"What are you, a psychiatrist? Seriously, I'm being real with you. I saw it, I observed it, it was one hundred percent real."

"Look, I don't see a reason why you lie to me about this; you're more dedicated to this plan than most people are to their families, I just think it's questionable. I'll just believe you for now. But, I expect you to eventually produce proof of whatever it is you claim to have."

"That's what I want to hear. You and I set up the expectation that I'll display my power to you, it'll just grow stronger. I mean, who knows how much further it's progressed now that I broke a second force."

"Alright, enough of your nonsense. What force are we breaking next? Is it death? Are we resurrecting someone? If we are, can it be Steve Irwin?"

"No, we're not doing death yet. I don't even know yet how we're gonna handle death yet. Nah, we're gonna move on to light."

"You're gonna break the speed of light? How the hell are you gonna manage that?"

"I think I might have already found a way. I just need to figure out how my power works."
