Let's Go

Emily paced outside the bathroom door, trying to get herself together. But with each step, one phrase kept going around and around in her head.

She was so fired…she was so fired…she was so fired… She stopped pacing and went over to the bed. Picking up the covers, Emily started making the bed as a way to keep her hands busy, her mind still running a mile a minute.

When Derek's voice had broken her from her tunnel vision focus. She had turned around fully expecting to find him, dressed and ready to go. Then when it had dawned on her that not only was he not ready to go, he was exactly where she had left him. The bed not done, his clothes not picked out, Emily had lost it.

She had gone into what her mother called her drill sergeant mode.
