Chapter 60

"What are you talking about Dad? We need to contact the capital and ask for help!" said Emily.

"What do you think they don't know already that the city is under attack?" asked her dad.

"Yeah, but maybe they are just afraid to do anything because of the lives of the people imprisoned," said Emily.

"Doesn't matter, it's been two weeks, and they have done absolutely nothing, and then there is the fact that the barbarians have been sitting on their asses doing God knows what, there is something else going on here, I don't think we are going to get any help from outside, we'll have to do what we can by ourselves, " said Forin.

"No, I know my dad he would come to help if I tell him to, he must be staying back afraid of our lives," said Vanessa.

"Do you have a way to contact them Dad?" asked Emily.

"Yes and I have already tried it but there was no response that's why I am telling you some things wrong and the barbarians caught me too and tortured me to near death, I have only recovered half my strength yet, now tell me what were you planning to do?" he asked.

Emily told him about their plan and that they had found a way to help them escape. Vanessa was standing quietly thinking the same things that Forin had said earlier.

"Well done, I am proud of you two, but how did you get here, where did the mages go guarding the dungeon, " he asked.

"We created a distraction, but like we said we don't have much time, " said Emily.

"Tomorrow, " growled Forin.

"What do you mean?" asked Emily.

"Tomorrow we'll take back the city, " he announced.

"How?" asked Emily.

"You will have to go and get out the soldiers from the warehouse, make sure they are armed send them to the other guard houses too, I'll take care of the barbarians in the castle, " he said.

"But how you are locked in here, and there are a lot of mages here?" she asked.

"This flimsy gate is not keeping me inside, I had been waiting for my strength to recover and for a sign and I think I have received it, tomorrow when the sun rises that will be your signal, I and the other nobles and ministers would be fine here, we haven't just been sulking in here you know, but I have to say you have helped the city," he said.

"Now go and don't get caught, " he said.

Emily grabbed Vanessa's hand and they ran out of the dungeon directly to Weiss's room, she was awake, Emily had told her that they would be going into the dungeon tonight and she had been sitting awake listening carefully to whether they had been caught or not.

Emily and Vanessa barged in.

"Come on Weiss, we need to go now!" Emily grabbed her too.

"Where?" asked Weiss.

"To the warehouse, we need to find their weapons and get them out too, " said Emily.

They ran towards the pond.

"Vanessa if we come across any guards you know what you need to do right, we can't waste time like last time, you will just have to take care of them, we will help but you know, we can only provide support, " said Emily running along.

Vanessa stopped thinking about her father she needed to get her mind focused, there were people's lives at stake. Emily was right, she let a little bit of her beast take over, her claws elongated and her fangs came out.

They reached the pond without any trouble and quickly jumped in the water transforming into their beasts.

They swan fast to the warehouse, keeping below water and coming out only when they had cover.

They reached the warehouse and went where they had made the hole under their room. The hole was covered was something and there was absolute silence on the other side.

Emily tried to move whatever was over the hole but it was heavy.

"James!" she hissed.

"Quieter!" Weiss hissed at her.

"I have been doing this every day when I bring them food, don't worry," said Emily and called James's name again, then the stone over the hole moved aside and James appeared.

"Habe you brought food again? Oh everyone's here is something happening?" James asked appearing.

"Yes, we managed to talk to Father, he says we'll have to save the city on our own, and that's happening in a few hours from now when the sun will come up, so we need to move," she said.

James had to take a second to make himself ready his uncertain eyes turned determinant.

"Guys! Wake up! It's time to go," he disappeared and soon more voices could be heard inside the room. Dean appeared in the hole soon and asked Weiss how she was.

"Give us some space," said James, and he jumped through the hole, the hole had been widened from both sides over the days slowly then Dean followed.

"Me, Dean, and Weiss are going to see if the paths clear to the weapons room, you guys go and get the others ready too," said James and left with Dean.

Emily and Dean went to the other rooms in which the soldiers were imprisoned.

"Wow you have been doing a lot haven't you?" said Vanessa, she had been coming with Weiss here every day and even alone to supply food and prepare for this day.

"Yeah, there are just three more rooms, this one has all the sergeants and captains in, once we get them out they'll handle the rest," she said.

"Sir, Lufius!, Captain Barns!" she hissed. The stone over the hole moved and a wolf-type and tiger-type were there.

"What is it, Lady Emily, ah Lady Vanessa is with you too, good to see you, my Lady, then does this mean?"

"Yes, Sir Lufius, it's my father's orders, we are taking back the city when the sun comes up," said Emily. Both of the men had wide grins on their faces with rows of fangs.

"I have been waiting to hear that," said Lufius and jumped down, this hole was much bigger and it helped because the tiger was indeed huge and jumped down fully transformed and swam deep underwater and away like it was a fish.

"He will keep a lookout for us, while we get everyone out," said Lufius jumping down, The other started jumping down behind him.

"James and Dean have gone to get the weapons," said Emily.

"I don't need weapons to rip their heads off their bodies," a large bear behind Lufius growled.

"Calm down Yanos, go and get Harry and the others," said Lufius.

In half an hour the space under the warehouse was filled with soldiers, men and some women too all armed. It was a miracle they were not making enough noise to alert the barbarians.

"Barnes you take James and his men to the north and Yanos you go to the east," Lufius was dividing the soldiers and forming a plan to reach every part of the city the quickest.

"Remember we need to be fast and secure the citizens, once all of our men are freed we will go to the residential areas, with Lady Emily's help we have information on where the barbarians are in those areas," Lufius was explaining.
