Why can't you forget me forever?

The morning sun dazzles me when I wake up, realizing that I forgot to close my shutters the day before.

Next time I really need to remember to close my shutters, I thought, sighing inwardly.

I climb out of bed, remove my wig and throw it on the nightstand before heading to the bathroom to shower and get ready.

As the warm water runs down my body, my thoughts drift to the events of the day before, and I remain stunned by everything that happened.

-I have another chance, I whispered to myself

I felt a palpable excitement at the thought of being reunited with my parents and being able to start all over again. This time I was going to show the true face of Donovan, my future husband, to my parents.

After my shower, I walked down the spiral stairs and towards the kitchen.

A little note was placed on the fridge, reading the note left by my parents I quickly understood that they had gone to stay with family.

I let out a shaky sigh, I was glad he didn't go to Donovan's.

But how was I going to prove that Donovan was anything but a good guy?

I was so afraid that my parents wouldn't believe me. What if he thought I was just saying that on a whim?

My heart sank just at the thought.

As I walked towards the living room, I saw a small note sitting on my coffee table. It was written: ps don't forget the meeting with your manager at 11:30 a.m.

Knock knock knock

It must have been him I guess.

I went to open the door.

-You haven't changed at all, I sighed relieved

-Well yes, logical, he said to me as he entered my house, why would I change

-Good question, answered him laughing

-So are you ready?, my manager asked me

-Not really, I replied, scratching my head.

-I suppose you haven't had breakfast yet, my manager said to me smiling.

-Yeah, I answered him

-I got you breakfast in the car, he said to me

-Okay, I'll take my keys and let's go, I told him

-Don't forget your phone, he reminded me

-Yeah, don't worry, I replied.

-I'll wait for you in the car, he said to me as he left.

I collect my keys and my phone, checking one last time that I haven't forgotten anything.

My manager is waiting for me in the car, parked right in front of the house. So I quickly join him and sit on the passenger side. He starts the car and we leave.

-Where are we going?, I asked him

-In the studio, he told me, you have to record your new music

-My new music?, I asked him perplexed

-Yes, the one you wrote for your future husband Donovan, he said to me, rolling his eyes.

And then the memories come flooding back. I feel my throat tighten and a deep disgust for myself arise.

-I want to sing new music, I told him suddenly

-How is that?, he asked me lost

-I don't want to sing the music I wrote for Donovan, explained to him with his eyes turned towards the car window

-Are these 15 songs that you want to throw in the trash?!, my shocked manager told me

-Yes I know, I replied simply, but I am ready to do something else

-Why this change so sudden, my manager asked me in a serious tone, I hope you will give me a valid reason

-I discovered that Donovan led a double life, I admitted to him in a mocking tone.

-I knew he was an asshole!, yelled my furious manager, I told you this guy wasn't clean

-Yeah I should have listened to you, I sighed

-Don't worry, it's not yet too late to get away from him, he reassured me

-Yeah, I replied, the problem is just my parents

Bzz bzz

My manager's phone rings.

-Are we late?, I asked him

-No worse than that, he said to me with frowning eyebrows.

-What's wrong? I asked him a little worried.

-Nothing, but I was told that Donovan was waiting for you in the studio, he explains to me

He weaves webs because he wants to imprison me and perfume himself to poison me.

You're toxic to me, that's why I'd rather never see you again.
