Healing

Soon, Elder Jo found himself frowning as he inspected more and more of Adonis' body.

"You don't have to tell me what kind of gift you awakened, in fact, you shouldn't ever tell that to anyone but I need to know, does your Gift have anything to do with healing?" He seriously asked as he looked up from his clipboard.

"No, it doesn't. Is there a problem with my body?" Nervously asked Adonis.

"Don't worry, I'll get to that later. The second question I have is, are you human?"

For a moment, Adonis froze.

"Y-yes…? I think so, at least."

Hearing this, Elder Jo fell into deep thought.

'Okay, let's go through the list. He doesn't have any of the physical features or innate runes so he's definitely not an elf plus they're not known for their healing. He has no horns and I sense no demonic qi so he's definitely not a demon.'

'Hm, maybe a Marah Beast descendant? No, it can't be. His body doesn't have any beast cores and he also looks like a regular human.'

'He's definitely not a Demi-human since he doesn't have any imperfections. He's not one of the sea race members. Definitely not one of the bedrock race members.'

'What the hell is he? Wait maybe he's a-'

"Young man, from what lineage do you hail?" Suddenly asked Elder Jo.

"I come from the Sarahadah Lineage." Said Adonis, already expecting the man's opinion of him to instantly change.

In his mind, Adonis believed the world perceived him as what he'd been labelled as by Patriarch Aksal- a killer and murderer.

"Sarahadah? Hm, strange, I've never heard of it. So that means you're not related to the four Lineages." Offhandedly said Elder Jo as he sunk back into his own mind and continued his analysis.

On the side, Adonis' eyes couldn't help but widen.

'The world doesn't know of our Lineage…? What?! How?!'

'Wait, no. I need to stay calm and think rationally of this. Now that I think about it, apart from the members of our family, I've never seen any other Sarahadah. I always thought it was because us royals didn't have that much engagement with them but maybe…'

'If that's the case then why did they lie to me..?'

A headache soon consumed Adonis' mind as the landscape he found himself in became even more complex.

'Can I even trust dad..?No, currently, I need to stop using him as a basis for my thought process. He could be as much an enemy as those who are currently after me.'

Though it deeply hurt Adonis to adopt such a way of thinking, he had no choice. Soon, he'd be on his own again and he'd have to survive. If he wanted to live for a long as possible, he had to assume every single entity that wasn't him, was an enemy he had to carefully dance around.

From now on, every single one of his actions had to be geared toward his survival.

With this, his mind calmed and he exhaled a deep, turbid breath.

Elder Jo's brow rose in surprise as he noticed this subtle change but he didn't dare comment on it. Anyone related to the White Dragon Queen was dangerous and as a man that valued his life more than anything, he would proudly turn a blind eye to what was going on here.

'Ah, whatever. I'm going to assume he's a sort of human and beast hybrid of extremely pure blood. Though it's probably wrong, I'll use it as a framework to heal him.'

With this, Elder Jo made his mind up.

"Alright, sorry about that, I had to focus for a moment. I now understand why the elder wanted me to study your body for a bit."

"Right, here's the issue with your body. It's incomplete."

"Incomplete?"

"Well, maybe I worded that wrong. What I mean is that it can do something amazing, but it doesn't have the most crucial tool to do so."

"The way I'm seeing it here, your body is able to use qi to heal and empower itself. It sounds simple but it is far from that since the efficiency your body shows in qi translation is beyond anything I've ever seen in a non cultivator."

"But, since you don't have any Qi roots, your body can't subconsciously take ahold of the ambient qi and since you don't cultivate, you have no inner qi so it's left with the only one choice- consume your life force."

Adonis didn't show a reaction to this but inside, he was as shocked as one could be.

"But that's not really gonna pose a problem. The only reason why your body was forced in such a state in the first place was because you were exposed to a really nasty type of qi for too long."

"Alright, enough talking, let's fix you up."

Elder Jo flipped a palm over and suddenly, his entirely body was engulfed by a wave of soothing emerald form of energy.

It gathered and condensed atop his palm before forming tendrils that slowly dug into Adonis' body, leaving no pain behind as they reached his heart.

There, the emerald energy began to condense and infuse itself within his blood and as that happened, his blood cycled through his body, infusing the emerald energy through his entire being.

Elder Jo's other hands moved and golden runes began to manifest in the air around his palm, encasing into one another to form a runic spell circle.

[???]

Adonis couldn't comprehend the words Elder Jo muttered but he could definitely feel their effect.

His frame, weak and starved, suddenly began to slightly fill up and his face, as pale as a ghosts, was flushed with life and blood as he finally regained a semblance of healthiness.

At the same time, [Prime] activated and Elder Jo's pupils slightly constricted.

He didn't try to stop it as he felt Adonis' body devour more and more of his energy, his interest peaked as he slowly watched this boy, who had practically been a dead man walking, turn into something beyond his wildest dreams.

Impurities leaked out in droves and his scars slowly began to fade as Adonis closed his eyes and passed out on the bed he sat on.

'Oh my, who would've thought…'
