Chapter 166 Transmutation

While he was working on the defenses of the bases, Zack watched the enemies' movements as well. They truly kept expanding westward, but once they reached the middle of the country, they stopped. Zack raised his eyebrows since it was around that area that he had found the last city of people who had joined the overlords. It seemed that the enemies wanted to target them as well…

"I don't like this…" Zack furrowed his eyebrows.

"If they fight those guys, they might think that they are being attacked because of us," Zack thought. "They have the means to defend themselves, but they are already facing other enemies."

As Zack observed the other human camps managing reasonably well, he couldn't shake the thought that they might eventually become overwhelmed by the ongoing conflict. The prospect of being overrun posed significant risks, potentially leading to strained relations and even outright conflict between different human factions.
