Mrs. Pei threatened the maid frantically.
She had been in a daze these past few months, paying no attention to her eldest son's affairs.
Only now did she recall that it seemed like a very long time since she had last seen her eldest son.
Perhaps he was unwilling to come home because she had scolded him.
Mrs. Pei consoled herself in this way.
Yet she couldn't help but feel anxious; knowing her eldest son, it didn't seem like his style.
Pei Yifei, dragging her suitcase, came out just in time to overhear Mrs. Pei's words.
"There's no need to ask her; she wouldn't know even if you did," Pei Yifei interjected, rescuing the hapless maid from her mother's intimidation.
Mrs. Pei's gaze immediately shifted to her, "Yifei, what do you mean by that? What on earth happened to your brother?"
"He's missing," Pei Yifei said bluntly, dragging her suitcase away.
She hadn't left the house since the incident.
Now that her mother had come to her senses, she had no reservations.
