Let's go on a date

As Thalira's words hung in the air, I couldn't help but feel a wave of confusion wash over me. Thalira was many things—strong, confident, a bit mischievous—but flirting with me? That was new.

It was out of character, or at least out of the character I thought I knew. I tried to focus on the training, but her lingering touches and smoldering glances made it difficult to concentrate.

We continued practicing our spells, but my mind kept drifting back to the unexpected closeness between us. Thalira's shadow magic was as impressive as ever, her control and precision making it clear why she was one of the top students.

Yet, even in the midst of our practice, her flirtatious comments and lingering touches were impossible to ignore.

"Nice form, Eileen," Thalira praised, her voice low and smooth. "Your fire magic is getting stronger."

I smiled, though my heart was still pounding. "Thanks, Thalira. Your shadow magic is incredible, as always."
