Duke vs wyvern part 4

The queen of the wyverns had never faced an impact quite like the one that the human created when his fist collided with her body… Perhaps it was the natural instinct of a beast, or perhaps it was simply the pain coursing throughout her body, but her attention was clearly on the man bearing the scent of a dragon now.

Suddenly the wyvern queen's eyes widened upon noticing the hint of familiarity within the scent of the man; the scent simply wasn't of dragon but one she knew very well. It was her partner who had been killed by this very person. Not only did they break into their home and attack them, they killed him, but to even use his dead body… A furious glare ran across the snakelike eyes of the wyvern queen as she let out a roar that seemed somewhat sad…

However, before she could even finish with her roar, it was silenced; the Duke had never been one for monologues or sad stories. He truly believed in survival of the fittest and that the stronger will always reign over the weaker ones within the food chain; this is why he had no issue showing respect to those stronger than him. So to him the mourning queen was simply a distracted opponent.

The second punch of the draconic arm that the Duke now wielded sent the Queen flying away, crashing into a nearby wall of the giant nest… What had been the situation of the duke not too long ago was now the circumstances of the queen… facing an opponent that overpowered her completely somehow… A singular arm shouldn't bring this much of a power difference.

That was also what Pyotr was thinking… He had in no way assumed that fusing one's body with these wild creatures that now roamed the earth would give them such a drastic change in power; perhaps it had something to do with the Duke's unique trait, but even then it was a jarring matter… As someone who belonged to the "mad scientist" class, Pyotr's curiosity deepened as a singular word left his lips.

"Interesting…."

However, while Pyotr was busy studying the newly created duke, the other two were simply at a loss for words. All but for different reasons, of course, Amir couldn't help but click his tongue, realizing the Duke had become even cooler and stronger than him suddenly. This will not do good for his image in front of the ladies. As for Yves? He was beyond terrified, currently curled up on the ground in a fetal position, unable to bring himself to look at anything anymore… Nothing made sense to him; he just wanted to go back home at this point.

Back to the actual combat, Duke had easily taken advantage of the opening provided by the queen's mourning and punched her into a mountain; however, the wyvern queen was still no joke. She slowly rose back up, flapping her wings and shaking her head to regain clarity; at least that was a sign of the duke doing actual damage to her. The mad fighter laughed upon seeing his opponent get up again and rushed in her direction…

The queen didn't act carelessly, however; she remained in her position, letting the duke get closer... and even closer until he was within range before suddenly spinning her body, causing the duke to be slammed directly by her tail like a whip. The duke felt the air being knocked out of his lungs as he was sent crashing against the ground…

However, to the battle maniac, this only increased his adrenaline high. He used the draconic claws of the new hand and dug them into the ground to stop himself from going too far, destroying the ground along the way.

When he finally stopped, he used his claw within the ground as an anchor and applied maximum force, using it as an axis to send himself flying forward like a bullet, punching the queen again in the back… He was living up to his name finally…truly showing the ability of the duke of throwing hands.

The battle between the wyvern queen and the draconic duke seemed to be rather equivalent, with no side really having an upper hand in this conflict.

Both of them exchanged blows, and both of them took damage. There was no clear winner in this battle yet… Meanwhile, the other three could simply watch due to the fact they would be more of a burden right now… And also the duke would never forgive anyone who ruined such a glorious battle, and they had no intention of angering that monster now.

Soon the sky that was seen through the giant hole in the ceiling of the beast began to change colors, from a vibrant blue to a lighter yellow to now an orange hue that indicated the setting of the sun. The two powerhouses had been battling for almost an entire day, one seeking revenge and the other the thrill of battle…

After so long, when both of them normally showed signs of exhaustion, Duke was the one who was able to gain an upper hand. The dragon queen, no longer able to keep its balance, slipped, giving one last opening. And with that, the duke, using all the strength in his body, punched the queen, knocking her out…it was a clear victory for the duke.

At this point Yves and Amir, who had started playing cards, and Pyotr, who had been inspecting the corpse of the Dragon King, finally turned to look at the guy. Amir was honestly relieved because he had no intention of wanting to spend the rest of the night in this cave, at least. They all looked at the duke holding both his hands up to the sky, announcing his victory.

But just as everyone thought the issue was over, they all felt it… a feeling of fear… feeling that they would die even if they dared raise their eyes right now… feeling of authority… Without a second thought, all of them fell to their knees without daring to look up.

As a man of green skin and a red cape adorning his back slowly descended in an armor that could only be considered sci-fi to them, if they had the strength or the audacity to raise their eyes, they might recognize this person as the administrator from the Tournament of Kings. As his chin rested in the palm of his hand while he looked at the corpses of two giant wyverns and the draconic arm the duke wielded, he then let out a defeated sigh bef

ore he spoke.

"So much to fix…"
