Interlude 4.00

"Charlotte." Ian… oh my dear Ian. He called my name, stalking towards me with some passion in his steps. Here in the unnamed city… full of players and all sorts of different people.

Yet there was something different in the air, an almost electric feel whose very buzz tickled my skin.

"Yes?" I questioned, not turning my back to the stall I found myself in front of. It was some kid… child… it mattered not. The boy manned the station, holding what seemed to be a sort of local cuisine.

I was curious enough to try it. And so I did. I swiped my finger - knowing that the boy was a player - and deposited an even twenty within the given account.

"Thank you!" The boy yelled, bowing quite low. "Really thank you."

Putting on a polite smile I waved back and nibbled at the food. It was quite good. Different from anything I had eaten before but not unpleasant.

"I might have one again."
