The Knight Scroll (1)

The scroll appeared in his hand as soon as he focused on its mark.

Hex sat in his bed. Despite not having slept for a couple of days, Hex felt fresh and invigorated. He made sure to lock the door before opening his scroll. He even went as far as hiding his hand in his sleeve when summoning the scroll.

To anyone spying on him through obscure means, it would appear as if he pulled the scroll from his robe. It wasn't paranoia. It was a healthy dose of caution.

Hex sensed the presence of Fiends in the first tunnel as soon as he stepped inside the burrow. But when Bashar said they explored that tunnel, he took a wait-and-see approach. He didn't know why they acted secretive.

With their endless customs, Hex half expected them to have done it because they didn't wish to disturb their Lord for something they could solve. It could also be because of something deeper and sinister.
