Hex realized that the day he was thrown out of the cloister and into the slums. He vowed to become the baron and show what being strong meant. 

To forge his own destiny, Hex scavenged the mountains, braving the cold solitude with a smile. At last, one day, he gained his chance on the verge of life and death. Even then, society and Fate tried to interfere. Faced with death, his Will didn’t waver and he gritted through, forcing his Heart to awaken. The Stone Heart in his chest defied his destiny and helped him write his own. 

Emboldened by his Heart of Stone, he walked the path to his dreams. His dreams, however, threatened to put him in the middle of the crossfire between Powers that could destroy Earth and Sky. Hex couldn’t allow his dreams to shatter. So, he sought to destroy all those who threatened his dreams.

Follow a young man on his quest to fulfill his dreams, even if it meant to destroy Heaven and Earth.

The Stonehearted Knight

Volume 2, The Fateless One, has been completed. I like to thank everyone who supported me on this journey. This Volume is special to me because while writing it, I started to realize what being a writer is about.

As I have said often, I started to write this novel on a whim. I had no plans to even come this far. But as I followed Hex on his journey, I started to love the process.

Every day, before, during, and after, thoughts like What's next? What if we (Hex and I) f this up in such a way? Wouldn't it be fun if we did this? keeps me excited.

During Volume 2 I started to waver. My updates became unstable and I wrote crap (apologies to those who endured it). The lack of response and readers demotivated me. I questioned my abilities, my resolve, and my path in life.

But then some readers came. And I realized I was not professional enough. Nor was I mentally strong enough to tackle such (minor) disappointments.

In the end, it came down to one simple question: Continue or Quit? And thanks to my readers and my desire to complete Hex's journey, I continued. And I am glad I did.

Readers are still sparse but life is bright and long. I will continue to pursue writing as a skill, a way of life, and as a passion. If it generates some income, I will have a drink; if not, well, okay then.

Volume expands on the foundation of Volume 1. We see more of the world, learn more about the powers in it, new people appear, and we talk a lot about Fate and Heaven.

World: We will see more of Asterella, towns and cities, and the local government.

Powers: the prologue starts with the crown prince and the second prince. The royals are an integral part of the story. Other powers, such as the Northern Hawks, the Duke and nobles, and the factions appear. We see bits and pieces of the Paladins, Templars, and Warlords.

People: the royals, the nobles, the dawnbringers, the factions (the three most powerful ones), merchants, and oracles are given time on the stage.
