During her marriage, Paula never knew what happiness meant. She loved Len Bertram sincerely but all he did was insult her for two years. Even despite his indifference, Paula's love for this man didn't fade.

She believed he would come to realize that her feelings weren't false.

Unfortunately, she was set up by her devious mother-in-law and her stepsister. 

Len believed them, which was unsurprising, and sent her away from the Bertram family as punishment.

Six years have passed, and Paula is back with a fresh perspective on life and David Alesso—one of the most renowned film directors in the world—at her side. 

Now her ex-husband wants her back but Paula isn't the fragile, timid girl she used to be and won't let Len take away her joy. 
 
Len appeared more composed than he had been six years ago, but Paula was nothing like she had been.

*Excerpt* 

Paula huffed sharply as she stared at the distant man in front of her. "Mr. Bertram! What I do is none of your business? The fact that you are acting as though we have known each other for years when we ended our relationship badly is presumptuous, and we are not on good terms."

"I'm sorry" Those words, as heavy as his heart, fell from his mouth. "I was a jerk and I know I deserve nothing from you but please..."

"Don't get on my nerves, Mr. Bertram!" Paula yelled at him before he could say anything more, expressing her disinterest in listening to him.

However, Len's next actions surprised her.

He moved an inch closer to her, brushing off the strand of hair on her face. "I don't want to get on your nerves, Paula but I want to get into here." With his finger pointed directly at her chest, he tapped her heart.

Paula's heart began racing wildly and at that precise moment she realized that Len was a fire she would never be able to put out.  

What will she do now? Will she be able to put out that fire?

Don't get on my nerves, Mr. Bertram!

The video played on the screen for the nth time. The man rewatched the video, scrutinizing it intently and narrowing his eyes as though he wished to not overlook any crucial information.

"Have you located the poster yet?" Len uttered, handing over the phone to Isak, who was sitting in the front seat. "Is it really someone we know, or is it Drake?"

Len didn't trust that guy, especially since he declared his feelings for Paula and his desire to pursue her. Even though he and Paula were no longer together, it was strange to hear such remarks from the self-proclaimed playboy Drake.

"I'm sorry, but Mr. Bertram, why would Mr. Steel want to hurt the person he has feelings for? I'm not supporting him, but the perpetrator is someone who doesn't like Madam's arrival," Isak said, shaking his head. After all these years, he still remained oblivious to some things.

Even though Paula isn't married to his boss anymore, Isak still referred to her as 'Madam.'
