Chapter 373 : Mission Selection!!

A shocking scandal erupted within the Gattuso family in Italy.

The only son of the current head of the family, Pompeii Gattuso, known as the great "Caesar" Gattuso, actually assassinated his father during a family banquet!

According to Frost Gattuso's account, after Caesar returned to Italy, Pompeii invited him to a family dinner.

There seemed to be no unusual behavior during the banquet, but after it ended, Pompeii and Caesar stayed alone in a room, chatting for a long time under the pretext of catching up.

Then, suddenly, a loud crash followed by a scream startled the servants outside.

The servants immediately rushed in, but what they saw was Pompeii Gattuso, decapitated, his head rolling on the floor, neck spurting blood as his body collapsed.

Caesar stood there, holding a black blade, Dictator, with blood dripping from the edge, coldly staring at the servants.

Without saying a word, Caesar wrapped something in cloth, broke through the window, and disappeared into the night.

Upon hearing the news, Frost rushed to the scene to confirm that Pompeii, the head of the family, had indeed been decapitated. He also found the black blade Dictator at the scene, confirming that Caesar was the one who had killed Pompeii.

"Let's hear your thoughts, Mr. Schneider."

In the headmaster's office, Hilbert was rubbing his aching forehead, looking as though he had a headache.

According to his usual schedule, he should have been enjoying a cup of tea, having some delicate snacks, and resting in bed after washing up, not being woken up in the middle of the night to discuss a murder case from Italy.

"Very strange, too strange."

Schneider, who had learned the details of the incident from Norma, frowned and said in a low voice, "There are two main doubts. First: Pompeii was a playboy, but he was still the head of the Gattuso family, an elite of the previous generation's Hybrids. How could Caesar, so easily, kill him?"

"We can't rule out the possibility of a sneak attack."

Hilbert yawned, clearly tired, relying on coffee to stay awake. After sipping it, he replied, "From Frost's account, it seems like father and son were having a heart-to-heart conversation, then Caesar attacked from behind, decapitating that charming nobleman with the black blade."

"The problem is, why would Caesar bring the black blade when talking to his father?" Schneider asked.

"That's unclear. Maybe it's just a personal habit?"

Hilbert responded indifferently, seeming not at all troubled by Caesar's actions.

"So, the second question—what exactly did Caesar take?"

Schneider tapped his index finger on the table, asking the most crucial question. He leaned slightly forward, exuding pressure:

"Hilbert, do you know what it is? Whatever it is, it must be important if Caesar is willing to kill Pompeii just to take it."

"I don't know."

Hilbert leaned back in his chair, hands spread in a helpless gesture: "I asked Frost, but he doesn't know either. They're still investigating it."

"What does the Gattuso family think?" Schneider sighed, realizing they couldn't figure out Caesar's intentions by just looking at the missing item. He shifted his focus to the other board members and the key player, the Gattuso family.

"Do they want to kill Caesar?"

"No, the Gattuso family insists on capturing him alive."

Hilbert glanced at Schneider, speaking slowly: "With help from Cassell College, they want to capture Caesar alive without hurting him, and then leave it to the Gattuso family to handle."

"Are they trying to keep this quiet?" Schneider thought for a moment but then shook his head, full of doubt: "No, it feels like it's more complicated than it looks."

"Of course it's not that simple," Hilbert replied casually. "Given Frost's personality, asking us to kill Caesar would be the most typical response, but he insists we capture him alive and unharmed. That's clearly suspicious."

"You mean..."

Schneider quickly made the connection: "Frost's goal is the thing that Caesar took?"

"That's my guess."

Hilbert nodded, then spoke: "What do you think? Who should we send on this mission?"

As soon as the topic came up, Schneider felt a headache coming on.

Chu Zihang had been so deeply corrupted by the Dragon's Blood that he couldn't meet anyone. If exposed to the Secret Society, Cassell College would probably be surrounded by them the next day.

The best outcome would be a quick death, but the worst might be being captured and used for experiments until death.

Nono?

That was even worse. According to Cassel's rules, couples weren't allowed to carry out the same mission together.

Xia Mi?

Although Xia Mi had experience with the Bronze Plan, in the end, she was still a first-year student, making it hard for her to take on such a big responsibility.

As for the others, Schneider carefully looked around but sadly found that none of them met the requirements.

After all, Caesar was the best elite at Cassel, and the only one who could suppress him was Chu Zihang. But unfortunately, Chu Zihang couldn't be seen by others, so Schneider couldn't pick him.

Clearly, Hilbert understood Schneider's concerns and suggested, "What do you think about Lu Mingfei?"

Lu Mingfei?

Schneider's mind flashed back to the scene at the train station—Lu Mingfei, holding a chainsaw sword, covered in chunks of flesh and dried blood. He immediately shuddered. "No, absolutely not. He can't go!"

What was he thinking? If Lu Mingfei went on the mission, it would be a miracle if Caesar survived!

Most likely, Frost would receive a pile of crushed meat.

"Why not?"

Hilbert was surprised by Schneider's reaction and said, "Logically, with no suitable candidates, Lu Mingfei should be the best executor, right?"

"Principal, do you know about the Chicago train station incident?" Schneider's eyelid twitched as he asked.

"I've heard Norma's report, but I don't know the details," Hilbert said.

"Norma, please pull up the footage from the station and show it to the principal," Schneider snapped his fingers.

"Okay, Professor Schneider."

The ever-present Norma immediately pulled up the footage of Lu Mingfei, holding the chainsaw sword, walking out of the station.

Even the person hailed as the greatest dragon slayer in history was stunned into silence after seeing Lu Mingfei's appearance. "Is this… Lu Mingfei?!"

"Now, do you understand why I refuse to let Lu Mingfei take on the mission?"

Schneider sighed, feeling utterly exhausted, and said, "If we let this killer go, Caesar will be completely doomed. You don't plan on killing Caesar, do you?"

At this moment, Hilbert suddenly froze, his brows furrowing. After a moment, he said, "For this mission, let Chu Zihang, Lu Mingfei, Nono, and Xia Mi join together."

"Principal?"

Schneider was confused by his sudden decision.

All this time, he had been saying nonsense, and then he went ahead and put all four of them together. Wasn't that just asking for trouble?

"Principal, I think you need to reconsider!" Schneider spoke up seriously. "Forget Nono and Xia Mi for now, but Chu Zihang's identity must not be exposed, and Lu Mingfei... this is just reckless! I think we should send someone else."

"That's settled then."

However, Hilbert was firm and resolute as he said, "Go and inform them. In three days, they will head to Italy and cooperate with the Gattuso family to capture Caesar Gattuso."

In the end, Schneider couldn't argue anymore and angrily stormed out.

Watching Schneider leave, Hilbert let out a deep sigh, then turned to the side and said, "Are you satisfied with this outcome, Adam?"

The blonde young man sitting in the chair was Adam. He smiled softly and said, "Yes, this will do."
