Bloodstone Bind.

"How did the bracelet come in contact with a mortal?" My grandmother asked as she walked in, without any notification.

"I misplaced it."

I said bluntly, swinging my seat, to face her, with my hands folded across my chest.

I was on my system, when she barged into the room, dropping her question, without beating around the bush.

And somehow I've know that the question, meant Mia was in danger.

"A friend of mine, saw it and picked it up." I said , satisfying her curiosity.

"How then, the she get exposed to the cursed blood!!"

She yelled coming towards my gaming area.

I could tell she was upset, because her pupils had switch to a dark red ominous colour.

So I backed up a little, I wouldn't want an ancestral vampire, digging her nails into my skin.

"Easy, there, grandma." I said, as she recoiled back.

"I went to get it at night, and somehow she got up.. and the bracelet started to bleed on its own.

She was really frightened, so I was forced to use a hex on her."

I said, watching her expression shift from, upset,to confused, to been scared about something.

She was quiet for a while.

"Did you say, the bracelet started to bleed on its own?" She asked, much calmer this time.

"Yes, that's what baffles me till now."

She looked at me, and then my computer.

Without saying a word, she left the room.

Leaving me to my cloud of thoughts and confusion.

I really don't need anyone to tell me.

"Mia is a binder."

My grandma's expression said it all.

I dropped my game pad, and walked out of the room.

I was headed for our family library.

What did a book I once read said about binders again.

"Oh yeah... They are a huge threat, to the bloodstone Bind."

*******

I could perceive the warm, soothing smell of the coffee, I assumed my mom was taking that morning in my sleep.

Slowly opening my eyes, and yes I was right.

My mom was seated in the sofa, sipping her coffee and flipping through some health magazine.

I sat, upright, trying to remember how I later slept off last night.

I couldn't actually recall, but I'm pretty sure I slept off in her arms.

"Good morning baby."

She greeted, as she dropped her mug on the table.

"Good morning mom." I said with a smile.

I looked at me other hand.

The drip bags have been removed..

"Would I be discharged soon?" I asked my mom, as she came and sat on my bed.

"Yes, but you'll be under close observation from now on."

She said with a warm smile.

"I'll go get you breakfast, okay."

She added, giving me a short pat on my head.

I looked at the clock, it was just 11:35am, I need to pee either ways, before my mom comes back.

I carefully stood up, and walked towards bathroom located at the left side of the room.

Just as I was about to enter the bathroom.

I felt some surge of energy, like a lightening bolt, passing through my veins.

And this sharp pain on the right side of my ear, accompanied by a loud piercing noise..

Like a missile was realeasd.

I saw flashes of images...

Prince..

Blood....

Bracelet...

"What the fuck"...

Some kind of incantation..

And I remembered it all ...

I didn't realize I had collapsed and was laying in a lifeless manner on the floor..

Until I heard my mother's panick striken yells.

Doctor!!

Doctor !!!

Beep....

Beep...

I slowly opened my eyes..

But everywhere was white, I was in an empty white room.

"I'm i dead?" I thought.

"No you're not."

A female voice , similar to mine answered.

In shock, I looked around.. I was still the only one in this white room.

"How'd you hear me?" I asked, still searching frantically for a sign of any living been.

"I'm your subconsciousness..."

Was the short reply.

"Where I'm i?" I asked, this time looking at my body.

My skin was so pale, I would have assumed I was dead.

"You're in your head."

"How long I'm i going to be in here?" I asked, getting worried.

"As long as your brain, takes time to absorb the shock."

"I'm in a coma?"

"Yes, your body is in the ICU presently."

I was mute for a while.

"I can't stay here for long..." I thought to myself.

"It's good, besides you'll have enough time,to prepare for what you're going to face on the outside."

The voice said, interrupting my thoughts again.

"Is there no such thing as privacy here?"

I was getting pissed.

"I see, and feel through you.. call me the mirror of your soul...and yes there's no privacy here."

The voice answered.

"I can't stay here... "

"Your Mom..." The voice, said again.

"Don't worry about your Mom, just a few tears, here and there, but she will be fine."

The voice assured me.

I really didn't know how to feel about what the voice said.

It wasn't as comforting as expected.

I was on the brink of tears.

"Now hold up, you've shut me out enough."

The voice sounded upset or hurt but I couldn't tell.

I wiped the tears as soon as it came.

"How did I shut you out?" I asked slightly confused, my voice sounding hoarse.

"Let's be clear about one thing.. You're in immense danger."

I rolled my eyes.

"That's basically what been in the ICU means."

I said, as I bent slowly to sit on the floor.

"No, block head.. Powerful people are after your life."

I rolled my eyes again..

"Isn't this interesting... I have no business with powerful people."

I said, as I began to play with my fingers.

"Oh well..it shouldn't be surprising that you had powerful people all around your life, while growing up when you eventually leave here."

I was quiet for a while. I was thinking deeply..

I never really had any powerful people in my life.

"You know, if you can go straight to the point.. it would save us both the stress."

I said sarcastically.

"Let's start off...with, you're not sick, and you've never been sick."

I was shocked for a while. Then I started to laugh.

"So the drugs?" I asked again in-between laughs.

"Oh man.. you're funny." I said, laughing out real hard and loud.

****

Inside the ICU.

"Would she be alright?"

I asked in tears, as I looked at my daughter in the oxygen mask, looking as pale as ash.

"She has gone through so much.." I added in between sobs.

"And, she's going to come out of this stronger."

The doctor said, putting his hand on my shoulder.

"We must leave... She needs space to train."

He added, ushering me out of ward.
