THE BACKUP PLAN

In the end, I finished my meal alone and returned to my bedroom with a solemn sigh after a maid had assisted me in locating the bedroom.

Once I entered the huge bedroom, I released a heavy sigh of relief and slumped down on the floor. My small back leaned against the door as I looked up at the ceiling.

My body automatically relaxed the moment I didn't have any peering eyes observing my every move and expression. Nor dissecting what came out of my mouth.

Still, I couldn't forget Raphael's warning.

"If I ever come across your wicked lies, I'll make you regret you ever uttered them. I'll make your life a living hell."

For a fact, I had to make a backup plan for precaution. I couldn't rely on naively, hoping that I could secure a spot in Raphael's stone-cold heart before I escaped.

His actions and words were enough confirmation that it'd be a difficult task to accomplish in receiving his fondness.

At least, for the meantime, it would be hard, yet I had to figure out a loophole to gain his affection and trust because he loathes his sister to the core.

'What should I do? I don't want to kiss his ass just to acquire a portion of his love and trust.'

I bit my inner cheek as I thought of a few strategies I could succeed at doing based on his character.

Then, an idea popped up inside of my head.

'Maybe, I could act cute and innocent?'

However, I cringed at the thought of forcing myself to act cute whenever he'd be around. I couldn't possibly pull a nonstop cutesy facade just to get some affiliate points in my favor.

Again, another idea came to mind. An idea that might work compared to the previous one. An original goal I had before finding out where I spawned.

The second idea was giving Raphael the love and affection he didn't receive after their mother's passing. The empty void he had without somebody to fill it. Nor would he ever allow it.

Of course, he wouldn't under any circumstances admit it to anyone or even himself. A typical trait of his that is known to the novel's readers. A low advantage I could properly use for the broken relationship.

'I need to be a nurturing figure for him. It could possibly let his guard down and make him rely on me. It worked for my beloved Leonardo.'

I got up from the floor and made my way to the bed. Quickly, I took notice of the nightwear that a maid had already selected for me as it neatly sat on the mattress.

It was cute and girly. A good choice for a kid.

"What a long and exhausting day... I might as well should get ready for bed. Even if, it's early. Still, I don't want to face anyone right now."

I sighed and effortlessly changed into the light blue satin fabric. Shortly, I climbed into the bed and undid the sheets to cover myself as I lay down.

In the meantime, I merely stared in a daze at the high ceiling before I carried on with my night routine. I took a moment to grasp the new life I'd live inside of my favorite BL mafia novel.

Truly, everything hadn't sunk in, despite seeing the setting and a few characters with my unfamiliar eyes.

One moment, I was a model, then the next moment I was dead and transmigrated to another world by a gorgeous celestial.

It was not a death I had expected, but I was grateful for the second chance. On the bright side, I would get to see some characters of the novel before I found a secure place to escape.

A place far from the bizarre and terrifying future. Perhaps I could take Leonardo with me if things didn't go well for him. That's if he doesn't become smitten by those psychos.

Even then, I could help him find an actual worthy and handsome man.

'First, I need to figure out the spot where Roselyn and Maximilian went to before Raphael went on a killing rampage. The hiding trip they went together when the two got caught in their wild schemes.'

If I wanted to runaway from the plot, I had to find a secure place to hide. Somewhere I wouldn't be found and targeted by André and Raphael. Or any enemy of our mafia.

Of course, after I do some heavy research and exploring of my own without their strict, heavy surveillance.

Soon, I turned to my side on the mattress and remembered the upcoming trip as my eyebrows furrowed.

"He never told me when I'd go to the mission with Raphael. How the heck am I supposed to prepare for that bloody day?"

I sneered between my teeth and clenched fists.

It bothered me not knowing where and when I'd be assigned to leave our residence without being given information about the mission. I had no clue of its whereabouts.

I could only rely on the material our father had provided, which was nothing.

'Perhaps I could ask Raphael? Unless our father plans to deliver actual details about the mission as the days go by?'

Suddenly, a knock made its way through the bedroom, and I instantly sat up from the bed.

'A maid?'

Shortly, I got up and walked over to the door. Cautiously, I opened the door, but I was quickly tackled into a warm embrace when I did so.

"Young Miss! Are you okay? I was so worried about you that I rushed here the minute I awoke! They didn't treat you harsh, did they?"

The sweet and fretful voice belonged to Mariana. My adorable maid and first lovely friend.

"M-Mariana? You're awake!"

I gasped as I returned her warm hug, but I abruptly pulled away from her in a matter of seconds. I held her tense shoulders and examined her whole being.

She wore a black maid uniform with a blue rose badge on her left shoulder, unlike the other employees, who merely wore a basic navy blue uniform. A cute maid headband accompanied her attire.

She had long shiny silver hair and big pink colored eyes. She reminded me of a fairy or elf. Straight out of a fantasy world. We even shared the same height and almost the exact skin complexion.

She was a beautiful girl. Her soft beauty could rival Roselyn's cold beauty. I felt proud of how much of a heartbreaker she could be toward many unworthy admirers in the near future.

However, she was a kid. Just like Raphael and me. It honestly shocked me because I thought she was older. A teenager, to be exact.

'Why is there a kid working in such a dangerous environment!? Are these bastards crazy?? They really have no shame! Child labor at its finest! No. Those bastards are pedos!'

I frowned at the fact and became angry. How could they make a little innocent girl like her work here?

"Young Miss, are you upset with me?"

She sulked with wide, teary eyes.

At the lovely sight, her adorable demeanor tugged at my heartstrings, and I felt a strong urge of devotion to protect her at any cost.

'Don't worry, my sweet Mariana. I'll protect you from those perverted hooligans! I'll take you with me if you'd like!'

I mentally promised.

"Not at all, Mariana. How could I ever be mad at you? I'm just admiring your lovely appearance. After all, it's the first time that I am getting to see the face of my dearest friend."

I beamed tenderly at the wide-eyed Mariana before properly hugging her. It didn't take long for her to react and return my hug.

After a while, we broke our hug and Mariana spoke of instructions she had received.

"Young Miss, they gave me orders to hand you this envelope just before I arrived."

She informed as she pulled out a black envelope from the pocket of her maid uniform. Afterward, she handed it over to me with stretched hands.

Hesitantly, I took the black envelope between my hands and noticed a blue rose wax seal on it. The symbol and representation of the Bleu Rosén Mafia House.

"Thank you, Mariana. I'll read this.. later."

I informed, knowing the letter was from my father, André. Only he could write and deliver a fancy letter with the mafia symbol and name. Nobody else being allowed except him and his two offspring.

"I... I must go back now and finish the duties I'm assigned, Young Miss. I wish you a restful and pleasant goodnight."

Mariana advised while she held our small hands together. I smiled sadly when I heard she'd have to leave so soon.

"Ah, yes. I understand, Mariana. Thank you for visiting me before carrying out your duties. I'm glad you're fine. Goodnight to you as well."

I hugged her in a light squeeze before letting go and watching her walk away.

Deep down, I hoped to spend more time with her after growing so attached to her as a friend, yet I understood she had to leave to earn her fair share of money.

'Once I'm rich, I'll spoil you rotten my sweet Mariana! I won't let you lift a single delicate finger!'

Before Mariana left, she glanced back and uttered a few last words.

"Oh, Sir Edward sends his greetings to you, Young Miss. He said not to worry about him. He's doing well and has gone straight to work again. However, he apologizes he couldn't visit you himself."

She uttered with a flushed face for almost forgetting to pass on Sir Edward's message.

'Kyah! She's so adorable! I want to bite on her chubby cheeks!'

Luckily, I controlled the cuteness overload I strongly felt and kept a calm composure after hearing Sir Edward's heartwarming and thoughtful message.

"Tell Sir Edward I said not to worry. I'll be waiting for his visit whenever he's free again. I'll only ask him to stay healthy and not to overwork himself."

I replied and smiled warmly. Mariana simply presented a nod and a smile before speaking in a soft tone.

"I'll inform him of your kind words. For now, rest well and take care of yourself, too. Goodnight, Roselyn."

At that, there was nothing left to say, and Mariana took her leave. The click of the door echoed as I stood there and let out a faint sigh.

I turned to look at the newly polished glass windows and freshly cleaned bedroom with admiration. Whoever had to clean the room left it completely spotless after the incident.

I was beyond distracted and anxious that I failed to notice such detail beforehand. A sorry particular trait of mine.

"I should read the note now."

I mumbled to myself as I sat on the soft cushion of the vanity chair.

Carefully, I ripped off the wax seal and opened the fancy envelope. Taking out the letter inside, I opened the folded paper and read the ink-written message printed on it.

(Beginning of Letter)

Dear Roselyn,

I'll be writing you minor details of your mission through this letter since I have various states of affairs I must deal with first.

Two weeks from now, Raphael and you will head to your mission at an abandoned location. Your curiosity about the place will come to light when you arrive at the location, so do not fret.

I've already informed Raphael of the plans, so rest assured there shouldn't be any misunderstandings between you both when the day comes.

Sincerely, André Del Lobelia

(End of Letter)

Wasting no time, I ripped the piece of paper in half before I threw it in the trash bin nearby. I gripped the scalp of my silky hair and mentally lost my shit in pure silence.

However, I quickly regained my sanity and took deep breaths while I stared into the vanity mirror. No doubt, I looked like an insane and unstable person.

'I need to relax. I need to relax.'

I repeated, trying to calm myself from having a mental breakdown.

Curtly, I glanced at the thrown letter inside the trash bin and frowned. The letter wasn't much help about anything I wished to seek.

It simply stated the mission would be in two weeks from now, at an unnamed location. Nothing more.

At this point, my new life resembled a mystery film because of the unrevealed secrets and concealed information kept from me.

"Oh, whatever. I should just get some sleep. Yeah... that actually sounds quite nice right about now."

Yawning, I stretched my small limps before getting up from the vanity chair to head over to the bathroom and finish my night routine.

In the end, I merely wanted to rest without the stress and worry of what was supposed to be my everyday life in this crazy world. My now home.

Soon, the late night came, and I dozed into pure slumber when my back touched the comfy mattress after I turned off the bedroom lights.

I only left the curtains of the balcony doors open so the moon could illuminate the dark room. A cozy and peaceful significance I loved to relish whenever the nighttime came around as I fell asleep.

Slowly, I opened my eyelids and my eyesight revealed a blurry image of an unfamiliar stone balcony and a luxuriant residence.

As my sight grew clearer, I looked upwards toward the sky and took notice of the night sky. It was dark, but the night was beautiful.

Like always, the moon was the main source of lighting, illuminating the night beside the post lamps planted across the well-maintained garden of the large place.

Everything being covered in various kinds of pretty flowers and plants. However, when observing more closely, the garden specifically had one particular color palette that stood out; the different shades of purple.

My eyebrows furrowed as I observed the place more clearly.

The building of the balcony I stood in was a mansion containing high-quality of purple decorations around it. It seemed like someone was holding a fancy and elegant party for the high-class in present time.

Suddenly, instrumental music played in the background. I turned towards the sound of it and leaned against the stone rail with curiosity.

'Where am I?'

I wasn't sure what kind of dream I was having. I just assumed a dream of another rich girl's life. Or perhaps a random dream of a faceless hottie I'd fall in love with and never see again.

Shortly, the click of a door gained my attention as I glanced over my shoulder, which led to a pair of glass panel doors of an empty guest lounge.

With thinned eyes, I watched the scene before me and I unconsciously stepped away from the balcony's thick rail. I wanted to get a closer look at the unknown individual and see their face.

Soon, a beautiful woman wearing a glamorous shimmering navy-blue gown made her way towards the balcony as I stood there frozen.

Of course, my presence was unknown as she made her way outside and passed by me without batting an eye at my frigid state.

'She can't see me.'

I realized then that I was having a similar experience as last time. I was invisible to the naked eye. Only I could see everything and anyone around me.

For another moment, I took advantage of the invisibility I was granted and observed the beauty leaning on the stone rail.

I easily recognized those features.

The long and shiny night-sky hair that's curled in huge waves. The porcelain fair skin and the color of her eyes. Blue eyes that appeared as if they had glitter or mini stars in them.

The mature version of the wealthy girl I possessed in the novel. A villainess in the mafia and BL world I transmigrated upon.

The significance of the color of her fancy dress added further confirmation to the identity of the woman. A signature color for one of the five houses that ran the underworld.

Roselyn Bleubellé Del Lobélia.

Another dream about the bloody book, but why that is? I had no clue.

We both stayed there in silence as minutes passed and I stared at her with curious, widish eyes. Not until she spoke, that is.

"Are you going to continue spying on me or actually make an effort to approach me?"

The beauty remarked as the chilly wind swayed the flawless shiny long hair. Her voice was cold, yet delicate as her physical appearance.

At first, I thought she was referring to me till I noticed her stunning side profile was aiming toward the lounge room.

Right away, I turned my gaze to the direction she glanced at and a figure made itself known.

The mysterious figure was an appealing and feminine man. A heavenly man that dangerous and evil monsters would fancy. Precisely, unstable and red-flag men in the BL novels.

"S-sorry.. I didn't mean to intrude on your privacy. I-I was just curious about the s-special guest my cousin brought to the residence."

At his stammering words, the beauty simply smirked at him with luscious red lips before responding.

"Is that so?"

The man simply nodded his head for a moment before fiddling with his hands. Clearly, he was a nervous mess around the beauty.

The guy was adorable and charming. Something about him made anyone want to only watch him and solely him. A typical attribute for the main character of a novel.

'Kyah! He's so cute and lovely!'

Frankly, I was enjoying watching the whole scenery because of him.

After all, he was my favorite and beloved bias in the story. The love of my life. My one and only book boyfriend from my previous life, Leonardo Heartley.

I couldn't even freak out because I was too entranced by his beauty and loveliness. He was literal perfection.

"I assume you must be his.. 'beloved' cousin he spoke of, am I right?"

She questioned with a smirk. Her head was titled as she stared at him with a gleam in her blue eyes.

I could tell she was amused by it all.

"Y-You know of me?"

He beamed with wide and radiant eyes. His amethyst iris shined in the moonlight as his fluffy pink hair swayed with the breeze of the night's soft wind.

Obviously, he was delighted about being recognized by her. Whether it be by just a little or by a lot. It didn't matter.

'Adorable.'

He reminded me of a cute puppy being excited by just the slightest bit of attention it got from its owner. A lovable golden retriever type of lad.

"You could say that."

She simply uttered with a flawless and jaw dropping grin.

Leonardo couldn't have said it any better as he complimented the dazzlingly beauty in our presence. Taking the words right out of my mouth.

"You're... you're gorgeous."

My pink-haired pookie uttered in a soft, hushed tone as he gazed at the woman.

Evidently, her beauty and unique aura strongly captivated the magnetized man because he'd been lost in all of her glory.

The woman simply smirked at the man's mesmerized expression with her red tainted heart-shaped lips as she observed him.

Her shimmering eyes were amused by his honesty and adorable nature. An expression I've never thought I'd witness. Nor believe she could ever display because of a particular man.

The male protagonist.

As a result, I was baffled by the scene I spectated a few meters away. Zoning out as confusion filled my mind with various questions.

'Huh? What chapter of the book is this? I don't recall this ever occurring in the novel? Nor is it mentioned in the comments with spoilers. So, what the heck is this scene before my eyes??'

Quickly, I was drawn away from my train of thoughts when she spoke with an intrigued smile.

"You're such an honest man. It's quite cute. It almost makes want to snatch you from their grasps."

The beauty smugly said with a slightly tilted head. She had her slender back leaning against the rail and had her arms crossing while she observed my astonished pookie.

Soon, Leonardo blushed and shyly looked away at her straightforward eyes. His ears and cheeks became a cute shade of pink, which made him appear more adorable.

However, to both of our surprise, she leaned away from the stone rail and suddenly began to walk in his direction with a keen smile.

"It's a shame though..."

She began as she stopped right in front of him and took in his fancy purple attire. The same color of the decorations around the huge, luxurious mansion.

"You're the sole flesh of a fallen mafia house. A house that used to aide one of the great five. A relative they took in their home. How devastating it must be for you."

She spoke words of sympathy, but she merely looked at her perfect, shimmering pedicured burgundy nails with zero ounce of emotion.

"Ah... yes."

Instantly, Leonardo's imaginary dog ears flopped down as he stared at the concrete floor.

I wanted to slap her for insulting my lovable bias, but I changed my mind when I heard her next shocking words.

"Then, you should use that to your advantage."

"W-what...?"

"It would have them learn not to underestimate the so called 'weak'. Manipulate and fool them until they're beneath your feet."

She held a beautiful, yet haunting smile when she spoke. It was truly bewitching to the very eye.

In that moment, I couldn't understand why all the males around her were fully gay when looking at her. A drop-dead gorgeous of a seductive woman, if I may add.

Then again, the novel did mention many unimportant background characters that would gawk at Roselyn's divine beauty, yet none had the slightest courage to approach her.

No surprise, Leonardo was too flabbergasted to even process her word of advice and properly voice out his confusion. The same as me.

Unexpectedly, Roselyn's stunning expression dropped as she looked behind Leonardo. The direction of the lounge room.

Her eyes immediately turned cold and serious as she stepped away from Leonardo. However, he was too entranced by the moment to even realize what was happening.

"It appears I must go now."

She told Leonardo before walking around him in a swaying motion. Her slender back faced his own as she made her way to the glass panel doors with the sound of her clicking heels.

Curious by her sudden change of demeanor, I looked inside the darkened room and scanned what the moon could cast its light on with squinting eyes.

Seconds after, my breath hitched when I met the cold violet orbs of another. I felt the shivers grow when recognizing the hostility held inside the gleaming eyes, yet they beared some other emotion. Jealousy.

'Who the heck—?'

It was then, I realized the figure of a man was looking at someone in particular. The person being Leonardo, who remained still and unaware of the hostility aimed at him.

The sound of her heels paused before she glance over at Leonardo and spoke, despite the other man viciously eyeing them.

"Our conversation may be cut short this time, but there are other occasions where we can meet in private and with no interference."

She ignited with a alluring, mischievous expression. Her expressions just kept getting more beautiful each time.

Truly, I didn't think her attractiveness could enhance further, yet I was wrong for believing so.

Observing her blue eyes, they revealed her intentions to provoke the male, who was impatiently waiting for her to return by his side.

It didn't take much for me to sense that he was close to losing his shit. Close to intervening their 'friendly' interaction and farewell as he pulls her away by force.

'Is he Roselyn's lover? Maybe her boy toy?'

My eyebrows furrowed, thinking about what to make of their nameless relationship.

I could feel my cheeks getting hot when thinking about them having a physical relationship instead of an ordinary, innocent one.

"Ah, y-yes.. of course."

My pookie murmured softly, almost like a whisper.

Leonardo and Roselyn said nothing else as she left with the male, who impatiently watched the 'harmless' interaction between the two of them.

As they left the place, I could only stare at Leonardo's lonely figure from the sideline while he gazed off into the far distance of the residence's massive garden.

Almost automatically, he made his way to the stone rail as if he wanted to take a closer look, yet something was odd.

Not once did he look back the entire time.

His expressions and thoughts were unknown to me until I observed him more closely with steady steps.

Peeking at his side profile, I saw the rosy shade of pink tainted on his creamy cheeks and the tip of cute ears. A hand of his held the stone railing as the other one gripped at the fabric of his purple tailored suit.

In no time, his head was facing down while he covered the half of his face with his arm. He was shaking. His body trembling as he panted with a rapid beating heart.

He was a blushing mess, yet I couldn't believe it. He appeared to have a crush on her. Like a young schoolboy, who was coy and smitten by his crush.

I was stunned when I comprehended what was going on.

'Wait—! Isn't my pookie supposed to be gay!? T-Then why is he blushing over a woman and not over A MAN?!?'

Suddenly, Leonardo looked up as he gasped in utter disbelief. His amethyst eyes were wide and bore astonishment in them.

He was in shock at the unforeseen emotion he came to discover and obtain. The opposite of what the story unfolded to his ravaged self when he met the beastly male leads.

The whole scene and extra chapter I personally got to witness made me intrigued and hungry for more. It was like a complete different story. A fanfic written by a imaginative fan.

Shamelessly, I wanted to witness and see more of the juicy plot that wasn't ever mentioned in spoilers or in the novel itself.

However, that was only my wishful thinking because without a warning, my vision blurred and darkened in seconds. At the speed of light, I began to drift away from the scene and my dreaming state.

I was gaining consciousness.

Awaking from my dream.

Before I knew it, I awoke from the realistic dream.
