Let’s Never Argue Again

It took Gabriel quite a bit longer than usual to fall asleep for his afternoon nap. For more than an hour, the boy was too busy playing with horse figurines and stacking blocks with his father. He especially liked it when the block towers grew taller than him.

"Lu! Lu, look!" Gabriel kept pointing proudly at the wobbly stacks and clapping his hands.

Lucas seemed to find the toddler's pronunciation of his name hilarious. "I guess Viscount Nadrim is still a bit of a mouthful for him to learn."

"It still doesn't seem real that you're the viscount now." Celia shook her head. "I know your father passed away several weeks ago now, but I still immediately picture his face whenever I hear the title."

"I do too, truthfully. The other morning, Earl Livar was calling out to me over and over, and it took me forever to respond. It happened in front of about a dozen other men. That was embarrassing."

"Do you miss him even a tiny bit?"
