Celia forced herself to stop running and merely walked at a fast pace. She couldn't risk tripping and taking a fall onto the stone floor.
If she could've flown to Lucas's apartments, she wouldn't have hesitated to do it.
She could see servants clustering in little bunches throughout the building, whispering amongst themselves.
"I guess good news spreads fast." she murmured, exhaling in relief when she finally reached the courtyard separating the diplomatic wing from the main part of the palace.
She could see her friend Lord Da'ar, sitting on the fountain's edge and sprinkling breadcrumbs into the water to feed the fish. She nodded a greeting to him but didn't slow her pace.
When Celia reached the right door, she pounded on the timber so hard it made her fist ache. She waited for only a few seconds before pounding again. She was tempted to bawl out Lucas's name as if she were a peasant woman selling her market wares.
