Fang Qin finally put out his cigarette but didn't reach for the bright red candied hawthorn. Hands in his pockets, "I don't eat sweets."
Then he turned briskly and got into the car.
Gu Ruo looked at the candied hawthorn in her hand and then at his figure settling into the car, biting her lip, she followed and got in.
Fang Qin's mother really liked Gu Ruo; she couldn't hide her joy upon seeing her. Before the meal, she pulled Gu Ruo aside to ask all sorts of questions and make pleasant small talk. Throughout the meal, she continued to find topics to discuss with Gu Ruo.
Gu Ruo spoke softly, not one for sweet nothings, but the words she did say were sincere.
Fang Ruo always loved drama and wasn't afraid of stirring things up. While fiddling with the rice in her bowl, she said, "I heard before that the Gu Family's eldest daughter has a bad temper… but seeing it today, her temper is really quite good."
Fang Qin's mother gave her a disapproving glance, "You always talk too much."
