Chapter 24

-This chapter might be weird due to me trying to extend the pace of the story.-

Death is a funny word. Metaphorical and physically. What is death? Many ask that question over and over. But for me it means feeling my skin dissolve into dust, and awaking in a skin like sack to see my body growing.

It was a strange experience. I mean who would regrow their limbs like how grass grows. I mean I have regenerated limbs before, but this is different.

When I regenerated limbs, it took months and the growth started with layers. This growth is the bone growing, then the flesh grows around it and expands. It's weird. It is not human.

But am I even human now?

I regenerate at unnatural laws. Wrath, rage, gives me strength. My father's a monster, the father of them all. What does that make me? Just a normal demigod? I... I refuse.

I am who I want to be.

I am an animal that people will slaughter... Campers, my friends... When they find out that I am just one the bears that eats them, slaughters them. I don't want to be the lamb that they kill.

I am my own person.

I will deiced when I die. And I am not planning on dying anytime soon. And in order for me to get out of this sack. I grow one of my talons to their full length and slice open the sack.

The first breath that I breathed caused pain, it was like swallowing something wrong and chocking. But after I felt it, it vanished and I felt like it was normal air in a park.

I opened my eyes to look at where I was. It was hellish. Spots like pimples scoured the land that seemed to be flesh. The ground felt like iron dust digging into my feet. It was hell.

Only one place that could resemble this hell. That is the deepest pits of creation. The home of monsters. The evil that plagues the pits.

Tartarus the god of pits.

It would explain why I came here when I died. I came to be rebirthed. But from what I hear it takes months or years to reform. But it was mere seconds before I was reformed.

Is it because my father is Typhon? Or another reason. 'I need to find my great grandmother for answers aren't I?' I wondered as I began to trek across the near endless hell that was Tartarus.

The first couple of steps felt like walking on hard slime. It felt weird to say the least. But I continued to walk. I needed to reach my friends. My thoughts were dragged back to the prophecy that was given to them.

One shall be lost in the land without rain

I was pretty sure that there was no rain in Tartarus so that means one of them will die to their parents hands. But who would do that.

Thaila wouldn't since Zeus saved her once and probably won't kill her.

Grover, doesn't have any parents so that's out.

Bianca is a total unknown so that's not bad but causes some concern.

Zoe, I actually do not know but from when the line of the quest was spoken, I could have seen Zoe eyes become shallow. Like she knew. So that causes quite the concern.

All is left is Percy, which I highly doubt that his father would kill him. From what he told us and what I gathered, he has a pretty good relationship with him.

And Typhon killed me once so what's stopping him from doing it again? No he helped me and I doubt he helped me just to kill me later.

I had to stop my thought process due to seeing some monsters out of the corner of my eye. They were the vampire women. I really need to refresh myself on Greek monsters.

The moment that they saw me, the cowered behind a rock and fled. 'Seems like being the son of typhon here is useful.' I thought as I rushed to chase down them.

I reached one of the 3 in a few seconds of dashing at them. They had a donkey leg and a iron leg that made them run weird. I reached out and grabbed one of their legs. I then pulled with all my might.

"AHH!" A women's scream echoed as I ripped off her donkey leg and golden dust spewed around like blood spewing. The leg that I ripped off turned into dust as I reached for her head. I allowed flames to reach their peak, like when I punched the steel plate that was between me and Bianca.

As soon as my hand touched her face, her head began to melt away like ice cream melting in the sun.

Only after 5 seconds, she completely turned into golden dust. And the rest of them ran away, only 1 stared at me in pure horror. Frozen by fear.

They couldn't imagine that a demigod, their food, the pigs they slaughter would become the hunter and they become the prey. Sure they died by demigods but that was natural, he wasn't natural. He was in Tartarus, the place they reform. The place that they grow. No demigod would ever step place in here, but he came here. Now he slaughtering us. A monster in human skin slaughtering monsters.

And I could only look on in horror as he rips apart us. Just like how we did to demigods. How did the roles reverse this much...

I walked step by step to the horror filled monster. I could practically smell her fear. I smiled ear to ear. And then I kicked. Her head came flying off easily since she didn't put much effort into protecting herself.

"Rahahahhahhahahahahhahahaha!" My laughter echoed through out Tartarus, no, my hunting ground.

I would protect them. I would slaughter to protect. I would arise to the need and arise to the hunt. "I am Atem Hadi."

I said naturally. It felt like I just remembered. I remembered..... 'Is it the longer that I stay here, the more I'll remember?'

I pondered the thought for a while before rebeginning my trek across Tartarus.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I lost count of how many days I been in this hell hole. 3 days, a week, a month. Time is hard in Tartarus I guess. I have walked around Tartarus since I arrived. The water taste like gasoline that someone pissed in. And the food is even worse.
1/5 stars, would not recommend.
But on a happier note, I think I am stuck here until I fully reform or something. But that is also the bad note. I can't get to my friends in time. But if I can speed up the process, then it will work greatly in my favor.
Was I really using my time correctly? I mean it feels months had passed and I found noting at all. Maybe it is time to try it...
"Great grandmother, can you hear me?" I spoke as I felt heat growing all around my body. I was half expecting no response but that was the last thing that happened.
Shadows and darkness began to take up Tartarus like fog and it completely changed the surrounding area.
"Hello grandson. I am not your "great grandmother" But I am your grandpa." A male voice sounded out as light flashed Infront of me. I had to close my eyes to block the light but I could still see the light with my eyes closed.
When I opened them, a figure stood where the light was. He had an owls head and a human body. He was very tanned and had a staff in his hands. he wore no shirt but his pants was that of old Egypt.
"Who are you?" I asked as I did not recognize him in any Greek mythology.
"Because I am not Greek. I am your grandfather, father of you mother, Aya." My grandpa spoke.
"But what's your name?"
"It is Ra, god of the sun, light, day, creation, life, resurrection, truth, prophecy, sight, sky, heaven, order and kings. And you bear my blood, grandson."
Taisho Secret
There is a reason on why Ra didn't reach out for Atem earlier and the first person that can guess it will get a like.
