New Path

I didn't understand what she was saying, but my soul shivered with fear every time a single word escaped her mouth. She laughed a little and spoke with a voice that resembled a thousand bugs buzzing around.

**"I possess the ability to achieve remarkable feats and to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. I should be regarded with the utmost reverence and loyalty, akin to unbreakable promises. I am the sole source of hope amid the most dire of conflicts."**

Fefefefefe!!!

If I had the will to move my body, I would have gladly covered my ears. Listening to her laughter was sickening, to the point where the pain increased by a wide margin.

**"It does not matter, I am nothing more than a forgotten deity now. All those who offered sacrifices to me now utilize my power alongside that snake's children."**

"Haa..." she sighs.

**"I will be back again, it's only a matter of time. Now that the perfect host has shown himself, it won't be long until I am reborn."**

Her golden eyes blinked, and I regained control over my body, signaled by my loud scream.

"Ahhhh!!!"

Nonetheless, anything I tried to do was useless. I was really dying. The hole in my chest confirmed it all.

'If I somehow survive, I am going to be merciless to anyone who crosses me, or my friends.

I won't be a pushover and won't let anyone use me for their own gain!'

The small tears on my cheeks dried up. I so badly want to live and achieve my dream of being the Ultimate Ruler of Ablauf.

I will do it for myself, for my dead brother who carried me to the starting line, and for everyone I meet on my journey.

However, that is all wishful thinking.

The golden light silhouette took off her mask, and my eyes shook from puzzlement at the sight of her face.

"You...are me..." I spoke in a dead voice.

The only factors that separate us were that she had long white hair and a more mature face than mine.

A response I couldn't understand was given,

**"Think whatever you want, little girl. You are not the first person to resemble me in facial appearances. If you try to put it, I look more similar to your elder sisters than you."**

She took hold of my chin with her right hand and slowly shifted my face side to side. Her golden eyes seemed to be examining me, as if I were some sort of snack.

**"How ravishing. I expect nothing less from Jugador's seventh daughters. Your other five siblings were quite a delicious drink; I hope you are the same."**

'Where does my father belong in all this?'

I still didn't know what she was saying, but the word 'Jugador' was way too familiar to me. Even if someone spoke at superhuman speed, I would still be able to notice it.

I didn't have time to ponder about my overly strict father, as the woman holding me smiled menacingly.

**"Thank you for the meal."**

A single second didn't pass, before she sunk her sharp teeth into my nape. Not only that, but she quickly starts sulking my blood like how an infant does to her mouth.

"I am sorry, everyone." I muttered, as I took what seemed to be my last breath.

...

A few moments before Encender was swallowed by the cell walls, Tsuyoi carried Meron's heavy body back to cell 27F. She didn't know which cell the yellow-skinned alien belonged to, and the only option was to bring her back to her cell.

The moment she reached the door, Tsuyoi was greeted by a soft piano sound that mesmerized her very existence. However, she didn't have time to be absorbed in the music, as her eyes started to shake a little bit.

The two male inmates looked to be in sync, even though they were doing two different things. Rajah was the one playing the keyboard, and Tito had prepared a surgical bed for Meron.

'Tito's eyes still look half dead. No, that's not important. How did he know that Tsuyoi was bringing an injured person here?'

If his pride had let her talk to the man, then she would have figured out that Tito had been listening to everything happening outside the cell blocks thanks to his advanced hearing.

'There is no point in telling her that,' Tito thought with a plain expression.

He knew that Tsuyoi hated men. For what reason? He was going to wait until she trusted him to tell her. He could somehow guess, but the truth is better off coming from the victim's mouth.

Tito shook his head and asked, "Please lay her on the bed so I can begin to treat her injury."

Tsuyoi felt hesitant to do what the golden-eyed man asked, 'Why would Tito waste his time to save someone he didn't know?'

Tito didn't make much of a good impression on Tsuyoi. She viewed him as an evil person who only wanted to exploit her friend's kindness for his own good and dump her later when he achieves what he wants.

'Tito is a sociopath through and through! He only cares about himself and is willing to sacrifice anything, even his family, for his own good!'

'He is a rattlesnake that eats his own child!'

So why is he doing this?

"Why are you helping Tsuyoi? Do you know she doesn't need your help?"

Putting on a face mask, Tito replies, "Why? Everyone deserves to live. I do agree that some people don't. However, those that are willing to realize their own mistakes should be given a second chance. I am not asking you to trust me, but I want you to be the judge of me."

'He is not lying,' Tsuyoi concluded with a more shaken face.

She could somewhat sense when Tito tried to coax people in the past, but now his intentions are as translucent as water.

He is a double-edged sword who will hurt whoever holds him. Nonetheless, she had to trust him this once.

"Fine. Tsuyoi will judge you from today onward," she said, as she laid the giant woman on the surgical bed.

'I hope it works out alright,' the young man thought, as a sweat drop of hesitation fell from his face.

'All the medical knowledge I possess is from the Doctor's trainee. Even so, I will trust the words, "Based on a true story".'
