chapter 19

Hidden Resentments

Rebecca's eyes blazed with fury as she reminisced about the past. Her younger sister, Emily's mother, had married the man Rebecca loved, Leo's father. She had dumped him, calling him useless, but he rose to success and married her sister. Rebecca seethed, feeling betrayed. Her sister's happiness was a constant reminder of her own failure.

Even after her sister and brother-in-law's tragic death, Rebecca's hatred for Emily simmered. She hid it well, masking her resentment with a veneer of kindness.

But Rebecca's greed knew no bounds.

She had been in contact with a mysterious figure, a vampire named Victor, who offered her a substantial sum for a "business favor."

"One million dollars for a young lady," Victor said, his voice dripping with malice.

Rebecca didn't hesitate.

"I have just the person," she purred. "My niece, Emily. She's pure, and she doesn't have a boyfriend."

Victor chuckled, handing her a small vial.

"Give her this injection. It'll make her forget the past month."

Rebecca's eyes sparkled with greed.

"Don't worry, I'll do a clean job for you."

As she took the vial, Emily stirred, unaware of the sinister plans unfolding around her.

Rebecca's smile twisted.

"Time to put my plan into action."

With the vial clutched tightly, Rebecca crept toward Emily's unconscious form.

Just as she was about to administer the injection, Victor secretly followed her.

He had been watching Rebecca, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

As Rebecca hesitated, Victor snuck up behind her.

With lightning speed, he injected Rebecca with a tranquilizer.

Rebecca crumpled to the ground, unconscious.

Victor swiftly grabbed Emily and the bank card on the table.

"Time to collect my payment would be later ," he whispered in the sleeping Emily ears.

With Emily and the card in hand, Victor vanished into the night.

Leo's voice echoed outside.

"Emily, I know you're in here."

But Victor was long gone.

And Rebecca lay motionless, a pawn in Victor's sinister game.

Victor halted in the shadows, gazing at Emily's serene face. Her short, shoulder-length hair framed her delicate features, and her beauty mesmerized him.

"How could this fragile woman be the key to the prophecy?" Victor wondered.

He extracted a vial from his cloak, containing a new serum.

"This will erase her memories of the past weeks," Victor whispered, injecting the serum into Emily's vein.

As the darkness enveloped them, Victor merged with the shadows, carrying Emily to the vampire realm.

They arrived at the grand entrance, where a procession of captive women was being led to the Royal Palace.

Victor's voice echoed through the night.

"She's a special guest. Assign her a position that will hurt her the most."

The vampiric guards bowed.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Victor's smile twisted.

With a wave of his hand, Victor vanished into the darkness.

Emily, now a pawn in Victor's sinister game, was left amidst the eerie silence of the vampire realm.

The guards dragged her away, her mind shrouded in forgetfulness.

As they approached the palace, Emily's eyes fluttered open.

Confusion clouded her gaze.

"Where am I?"

The guards' cold laughter echoed.

"You're in the vampire realm, little one. You'll soon discover your new purpose."

Emily's heart pounded.

"What do you want from me?"

The guards' smiles grew wider.

"You'll find out soon enough."

And with that, Emily's descent into the heart of darkness began.
