The snowflakes danced outside the window, a serene contrast to the tension within. Emily's chamber, once a hub of worry, now burst with joy. The curtains were open, allowing the pale winter light to flood the room, but the windows remained shut, protecting Emily from the biting cold.
Suddenly, Emily's eyes flickered open, like the first blush of dawn. The maids gasped, shocked, their hands flying to their mouths. She hadn't taken an antidote, yet she recovered.
News spread like wildfire through the palace corridors: "The crown prince's wife-to-be has an antidote in her blood, fighting against poisons!" The whispers echoed, a gentle hum of amazement.
King Victor's sinister mind whirled, his eyes narrowing. "How can I corner her cook, start poisoning her...and let them see what happens?" His thoughts swirled, a dark vortex.
Meanwhile, Leo, en route to meet his arch-nemesis, Vampire King Victor, halted mid-step. Maids' whispers carried on the wind: "His wife-to-be woke up!" Leo's heart skipped a beat, his pulse racing.
He strode toward Emily's chamber, his long strides devouring distance. The doors swung open, and Leo entered, his eyes scanning the room.
Emily, alone, was slipping her clothes off her shoulder. No maids were in sight, making his brow furrow.
"You just woke up; allow them to help you," Leo said, concern etched on his face. His voice, low and soothing, wrapped around Emily like a warm blanket.
Emily's soft voice pleaded, "No, please. I'm okay for now. The hot, steaming water is okay. I'm freezing cold." Her teeth chattered, her skin pale.
Leo's gaze locked onto Emily's shivering form. He swiftly scooped her up, cradling her in his arms. His touch, gentle as a summer breeze.
"Wrap your hands around my neck," Leo instructed, carrying her toward the bathtub. The steam rose, a misty veil.
As Emily yelped, Leo halted, setting her on the soft carpet. "Turn around," Emily requested, her voice barely above a whisper.
Leo's sharp ears picked up the soft sounds of Emily disrobing. A silent chuckle escaped him, his eyes sparkling.
Emily hesitated at the tub's edge, memories flooding back. When she was cold, human touch made her freeze further, sometimes manifesting icy tendrils on her fingertips. Only a select few knew this secret.
Leo, sensing her unease, turned to her. "Emily?" His voice, a gentle query.
"I...I'll do it myself," Emily stammered, her eyes downcast. Her lashes trembled.
Leo's understanding gaze enveloped her. "Let me help." His voice, a soothing balm.
With tender care, Leo assisted Emily into the warm waters, ensuring her comfort. The heat enveloped her, a gentle hug.
As Emily's shivers subsided, Leo's thoughts turned to the mysterious antidote in her blood. "What secrets do you hold, my love?" Leo wondered, his eyes never leaving Emily's face.
Emily's eyes met Leo's, her gaze searching. "I don't know," she whispered.
Leo's smile, soft and reassuring. "We'll uncover them together." His promise, a vow.
The water lapped against Emily's skin, a soothing melody. Leo's presence, a shelter from the world.Emily blushed and was still really shy
She thanked leo and told him to leave the rest to her
