Spider Cave 1

Four guys were acting arrogantly, whispering and plotting on the side, leaving Ye Kai to do the grunt work alone. Fortunately, they didn't completely take Ye Kai for a fool. After settling their plan, they all rushed to help Ye Kai clear the monsters, explaining their previous slacking behavior as they went: "There was a bit of an issue with the guild just now, got a bit distracted, but it's all good now."

"Let's all work hard," Ye Kai said indifferently, without a hint of suspicion.

The four were secretly pleased, and for a while, they worked together harmoniously. With four veterans and Ye Kai, a master player, they made light work of the novice dungeon, crushing it with ease. Everyone enjoyed the battle immensely, and there was no sign of the treachery that lay beneath their cooperative exterior.

"Did you notice how high this guy's attack is?" Tian Qi whispered to Yue Zhongmian.

"It seems so. What's that spear he's using? I've never seen it before," Yue Zhongmian said.

"I don't know, never paid attention to low-level war spears," Tian Qi replied.

"It would be great if it dropped when we kill this guy," Yue Zhongmian said.

"What's the use if it drops? No matter how high the attack, it's still low-level gear, won't be useful for long," Tian Qi said.

"That's true," Yue Zhongmian nodded.

Both parties did not provoke each other and cooperated harmoniously. They entered and exited the Green Forest efficiently, the only regret being that they never encountered the hidden boss, the Night Cat Demon.

After several rounds, Jun Moxiao was the first to reach level 10. There was no helping it; he was the first to kill the Night Cat Demon, which came with a hefty experience reward. The Green Forest only had this one hidden boss, and with that single kill, Jun Moxiao was now quite high on the level rankings in the tenth district. However, the first player to break through level 10 was not him but a player named Lan He, who had already been mentioned in the system announcement twice, the first time for completing the Green Forest's first kill with four others.

Seeing Jun Moxiao reach level 10 first made Yue Zhongmian and the others nervous, fearing he would leave to deal with level 10 matters. But Ye Kai just smiled and said, "Leveled up," and amidst the congratulations, he entered the Green Forest with the four again.

The experience from the first kill of the Night Cat Demon wasn't too much, and after this dungeon run, Yue Zhongmian and the others all reached level 10. They also acquired quite a bit of equipment.

"Brother, we work well together. Now that all four of us are level 10, how about we try the Spider Cave?" Tian Qi came over and suggested to Ye Kai. Yue Zhongmian had a past grudge with Ye Kai, so this sudden warmth seemed odd, so Yue Zhongmian continued his unpleasant attitude towards Ye Kai, with Tian Qi playing the peacemaker from time to time.

Ye Kai agreed with the suggestion but mentioned he wanted to learn some skills first. Skill points were not only awarded from quests but also from leveling up, killing a certain number of monsters, and some challenge quests. With these, one could reach a total of four thousand. This time, leveling from seven to ten didn't accumulate many skill points, but the key was that level ten was another stage where new skills could be learned.

The other four also needed to learn skills, so they each found a mentor, learned their skills, and then headed to the Spider Cave to meet up.

There weren't many people at the entrance of the Spider Cave. After all, their team was among the faster leveling players, and those following the novice guide wouldn't consider this dungeon.

There were only a few scattered players outside forming wild teams. Due to the difficulty of the dungeon, they would ask about each other's equipment before teaming up, making it not so straightforward. Ye Kai and his team were decisive; without saying much, they went straight in. But this time, Yue Zhongmian and the others started acting sneaky again.

"Do we take him out immediately or see how it goes?" one of them whispered.

"How about we wait and see? This guy is really a good fighter; let's use him for now and figure out how to deal with him during the boss fight," Tian Qi suggested.

"Mm," the others agreed. To be honest, they had no grudge against Ye Kai, and seeing how well he fought, being the top damage dealer in the team, they were somewhat reluctant to let him go. But due to Yue Zhongmian's face, they had to come to this point. Although they didn't say it, they felt quite regretful.

"Did everyone bring antidotes?" Tian Qi asked after entering the dungeon, to which everyone affirmed, except Ye Kai, who just casually laughed and said, "No need."

"This guy is asking for it," Yue Zhongmian was quite annoyed with Ye Kai's confident tone.

"It makes it easier for us to act," Tian Qi always seemed to take things in stride.

The Spider Cave was dimly lit, with broken webs everywhere and occasional scattered bones on the ground, creating a gloomy and terrifying atmosphere. Yue Zhongmian and the others were a bit nervous. In Glory, death meant losing experience—10% in the normal world, and equipment might drop, though the chance was low. In the Divine Realm, it was even scarier, with a 20% experience loss upon death and a high chance of equipment dropping.

Looking at Jun Moxiao, he was still as casual as he was in the Green Forest, holding his war spear and striding forward. Yue Zhongmian and the others were fine with this guy taking the lead in triggering traps.

Ye Kai had almost forgotten these low-level dungeons; he remembered that he had once written a guide for the Spider Cave, but now he couldn't recall a thing. It had been almost ten years.

As Ye Kai was reminiscing, a shadow suddenly burst out from a crevice and pounced towards Jun Moxiao's face. Ye Kai's left hand hit the keyboard and his right hand pulled the mouse; Jun Moxiao rolled backward to dodge the pounce and stood up with a Sky Strike.

The attacker was a melee poison-green spider. After being hit by the Sky Strike, it flipped onto its back and was lifted into the air. Following up on airborne targets was a basic operation in Glory, and Ye Kai wouldn't miss it. After a flurry of keyboard and mouse clicks, Jun Moxiao jumped forward, spear in hand, and unleashed a barrage of stabs from the air to the ground. Four consecutive stabs, each hitting its mark, pinned the green spider to the crevice wall.

"Holy shit, no way!" Tian Qi exclaimed.

"Airborne quadruple stab!!" another person cried out in shock.

"A level 10 can perform an airborne quadruple stab?" a third person added.

Yue Zhongmian was too shocked to speak, his mouth agape.

The airborne quadruple stab was a combo known to many but performed by few Battle Mages. In theory, it's simple: use the normal attack's thrust, Dragon Tooth, plus the Battle Mage's level 10 skill, Continuous Pierce, to execute four straight stabs on an airborne target.

"I heard you need a hand speed of over 170 to pull off this combo," Tian Qi said.

"Isn't that with the attack speed bonus after changing class to Battle Mage?" another person reminded.

"He's just a solo player now..."

"How much difference is there between a solo player and a Battle Mage's attack speed?"

"I don't know, you have to consider the equipment, and his current gear definitely doesn't have an attack speed bonus." Jun Moxiao's equipment was mostly obtained while running dungeons with them.

"What about the weapon? Could it be the weapon that's making the difference?"

"Stop looking for reasons. Even if you change to Battle Mages and get a full set of Radiant gear that boosts attack speed, can you perform an airborne quadruple stab?"

Silence fell. If they could do it, they wouldn't be so surprised.

"Who exactly is this guy?" The three turned to look at Yue Zhongmian.
