Chapter 39 - The Battle for Survival

Declan and Elara exchanged glances as the seriousness of Helena's words sank.

Declan was filled with both betrayal and rage, his mind racing over the information.

Though he and Adrian had always had a close relationship growing up, it seemed now that what he knew was false.

When his mother spoke, her eyes were heavy with grief.

"Adrian's personality is a result of his growing up, not his blood," she said calmly. "But we must focus on the battle ahead."

Already, the pack was dispersing, getting ready to launch many attacks on the stronghold.

Declan inhaled deeply and nodded, putting his feelings aside for the benefit of his pack.

Approaching the gate as a group, they were prepared for anything. Their hearts pounding together echoed through the night.

Knowing there was danger ahead, they could hear the enemy werewolves' distant roars as they approached the stronghold.
