Chapter 01

33-year-old Adelaine Hammond sat in her cluttered study, surrounded by stacks of books and papers, the soft glow of her laptop screen casting a warm hue in the dimly lit room. She had just finished her latest novel, "Echoes of Time," a novel that she had only taken her six months to finish despite the deadline of one year. She leaned back in her chair, savoring the moment of accomplishment when a new email notification popped up on her screen.

Ding!

Ding!

Curious, Adelaine clicked on the message. It was from an anonymous sender. The subject line read: "Proposal for 'The Heroes' Dawn'."

With a mixture of hesitation and disappointment, Adelaine opened the email. The sender was an avid follower of the said title and asked if he could remake my novel. I was perplexed.

My novel 'The Heroes' Dawn' was in a paid serialization, and I also stopped writing that novel long ago. Even if I wanted to let him remake my novel, I couldn't convince myself to agree to it. Aside from the fact that it would be a breach of contract for the company that I signed into, it was also because I was embarrassed to continue it again.

This was the first novel that I wrote since I became an intern at a famous book writing and publishing company. I was young back then, so I didn't know much about writing, but I still want to accomplish my dream of becoming a famous author.

I was twenty when I first published my novel on a website, it was instantly popular with teenagers. It's also considered one of my greatest hits in my 13 years of writing.

I had published so many novels, but when I received this email, I was reminded of how awful that novel is. I never finished writing it. The reason? I had a writer's block.

I was so excited to create my first novel that I poured all my heart's content into writing every single chapter. I didn't even proofread it. I was so full of energy that every time I was done with a chapter, I immediately posted it on the website and created a new one.

I couldn't even sleep at that time, I was thinking about my novel and how the story would flow next. Shortly after a year of writing, that's where I got my writer's block. I forcefully pushed myself to continue writing, eventually making the novel full of errors and plot holes, even the characters' traits and personalities have fallen apart. Therefore resulted in a major drop in readers. I didn't even read the comments, as I was afraid of being criticized.

In the end, I stopped writing the novel and went on a short break to refresh my mind. After that, I created another novel to forget what I first created.

Ding!

Ding!

I snapped back to reality as another notification popped on the screen.

It was the same sender.

If you're worried about the copyright laws, I promise not to disclose the remake version of your novel to anyone. Instead, it will remain confidential between us. I will only show it to you. I will only make a remake version for my satisfaction, and perhaps after reading the remake, it will serve as an inspiration for you to finish it.

After contemplating for a while, I closed the message, opened up a new tab, and searched 'The Heroes' Dawn'. A website appeared and I clicked on it. Lo and behold, there it was written in bold letters; THE HEROES' DAWN, it has a total of 5968 chapters. I don't know how to react after staring at it but I started to feel sleepy so I shut down the monitor and went straight to bed.

After a minute of silence, the screen suddenly lit up as sparks of electricity started to burst out of the screen.
