Chapter 7: Yu Chen’s Power Level

At about the age of three, children in the Orion World get tested for their genders. The Deltas and Dominants will experience a burning sensation.

An agonizing pain would wash over them as their genders constituted. On the left side of their back, a bright red flame would be imprinted. One flame represents a Delta and two flames a Dominant. If three flames are imprinted then that child would be an Extreme Dominant.

Hermaphrodites are rare with innate pure yin bodies. They are represented, with a cinnabar mole in the crease of their eyes. The cinnabar mole would take the color of the hermaphrodite's eyes. The brighter the mole, the purer their yin energy is, and the more they need yang energy, Delta and Dominants, to balance their energies.

'There are only 5% of hermaphrodites in this world, and only 1% are males. The crazy people of this world believe hermaphrodites are more fertile. But I, Yu Chen, will not be the one to find out!' Yu Chen thought as he tried to understand all the information he received.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD!? HOW COULD A MAN GET PREGNANT!? ' Yu Chen thought as he sat around the dining table.

'What I understand from the information yesterday, is that one, I should protect my chrysanthemums at all cost, and two, stay away from especially the Dominants! I must run like a scalded dog if I ever face one!' Yu Chen thought with an exasperated groan.

"Yu Chen? Yu Chen!?" Jia Li called. Snapping out of his thoughts, Yu Chen raised his head to look at his mother.

"Are you still thinking about being a hermaphrodite?" Jia Li asked with a worried expression. Seeing that his behavior made his mom worried, he could only sigh and decide to accept his fate.

"I am fine Mom. I will get over it soon," Yu Chen replied. His mother gave him a reassuring smile.

"Son, now, can you tell us how you awaken your powers?" Jia Li said.

"Star powers can only be awakened once in a lifetime. I do not know if you remember, but we tested you a few years back with the magic globe, but you had no star power. There are a few late bloomers. Are you perhaps a late bloomer?" Li Jie enquires.

"Honey, did we use the wrong globe?" Li Jie asked his wife.

"Impossible! He was only three years old! How can he have more than three-level star power at that age!" Jia Li asserts.

"Uhm, I do not know. I simply absorb the spiritual power* in my surroundings. It just comes to me regularly like I am breathing air. I do not even know what level I am." Yu Chen responded ignorantly, shocking both his parents.

They were not shocked that Yu Chen knew nothing about cultivation because they taught him nothing about the cultivation world. They were shocked because he said he just absorbed the spiritual power from his surroundings, just like breathing. This is a phenomenal event.

"Son, what did you just say!?" Li Jie asked with utter astonishment. Yu Chen stared at his parents with question marks across his face.

"Well, I just absorbed it. I do not know either. It just naturally flows into my body. It feels refreshing like drinking cool water on a hot day," Yu Chen said as if what he was saying was a trivial thing.

He does not understand that if known by others, not only would all powerhouse try their best and force their hands to recruit him, he would be in danger. Persons who can not have him will naturally try to destroy him, people will start to envy him, so they will naturally want to kill him, and persons who do not want such unrivaled power in the world will naturally want him dead.

Jia Li and Li Jie were at a loss for words. The look they gave Yu Chen was saying, 'Where did this monster come from? What talent!'

"Honey, go get the magic globe!" Jia Li said. Li Jie then took off to the storage room for the magic globe.

"Mom, what exactly is a magic globe?" Yu Chen asked. Jia Li looked at his son as if he had just grown horns. She then face-palmed herself. She could not complain because she taught him nothing about this world. She only gave him some books on basic cultivational levels and little knowledge about the Orion world. Jia Li could only sigh helplessly.

"Magic globes are round colored orbs used for testing and evaluating one's star power. There are three various types of magic globes: Low-Level Magic Globes, Medium Level Magic Globes, and High-Level Magic Globes." Jia Li stated as she continued.

"The Low-level magic Globes are used to test the potential of a child between two to three years old. This magic globe only measures star power from level one to level two. Our Xiao Feng got tested at two years old as a level two, a natural talent." Jia Li boasted. Yu Chen can only chuckle at his mother's proud expression.

'A peacock flaunting his wings reminds me of someone,' Yu Chen thought as he chuckled.

"But these are normally used to test villagers and towndrens*; because of their bloodlines, they do not normally pass the threshold of level three, but with mixed bloodlines, there are exceptions. This was also the magic globe we used to evaluate your star power when you were three years old." Jia Li added.

" The Medium level globes are used to test star powers beyond level three. It can measure up to level six. Normally, the nine major families used these magic globes to test for talents." she continued.

"The High-level magic Globes are even better and are rare. They can measure up to level nine. This globe measures from level seven star power to level nine star power. It is a powerful existence because Globes like these have intelligence. Level nine and above are the only ones that can create a globe like this. In the entire Orion World, there are only four of such."

"So, are there no higher powerhouses apart from level 9," Yu Chen enquired. Soaking up the information like a sponge.

"Do you think it is easy to reach level 9? Cultivation is not as simple as eating potatoes, you know. There are only five level 9 powerhouse in the entire Orion World." Jia Li responded to her ignorant child as she flicked Yu Chen's forehead. Yu Chen could only rub his bruised forehead as Jia Li spoke again.

"But there is a myth that we once had eleven and twelve powerhouses. Most people do not believe it. I do not believe it either." she said.

In the next minute, Li Jie came running out with a round-like glass item that was a gradient color. Attached to it is something in the shape of a grown hibiscus petal.

To Yu Chen, this looked like a mage orb from the anime he watched in his original world. He could not believe he was seeing this in real life.

Yu Chen was so amazed at the Magic Globe that his eyes shone with stars. Even though he found it hard to accept the fact of transmigrating and being a hermaphrodite, he was very much interested in the cultivation of this world.

"Yu'er, you place your hand on the globe, channel the star power to your hands, and finally release the energy." Li Jie said as he demonstrated the circulation of star power to Yu Chen.

The magic globe glowed a bright red light illuminating the entire dining room. This red glow represents the highest point of fire energy using the medium-level magic globe.

"Dad, what level are you?" Yu Chen asked. Amazement is evident in his ocean eyes.

"Haha, it is a secret. I will tell you later," Li Jie responded with a chuckle. Yu Chen was a bit disappointed but it was understandable, so he nodded his head.

"So, now you understand. Go ahead and evaluate your star energy." Li Jie urged Yu Chen. But Yu Chen, a modern time man, was struck dumb.

Just with one look, he is supposed to understand channeling star power! How is this demonstrated? He is a genius in business, business! Not Damn magic!

"It is OK Yu'er, you can do it, just try it," Jia Li said as she urged her son. She knew him too well. When she saw that he just sat there without doing anything, she knew he was probably having an inner conflict.

'Yu Chen, this child, has had a cold demeanor since he was a child. As a baby, he did not cry much, but growing up, I got to find out that he is a big softie on the inside,' Jia Li thought with a smile as she looked at her tsundere of a son.

Getting the encouragement he needed, he decided to give it a go. He cannot be that bad, right?

Placing his hand on the magic globe, he tried the circulation his dad taught him, but he did not understand and could only do it his way.

Yu Chen took a deep breath and, with a determined look, attempted what his father demonstrated. Just like how blood would circulate in the body, the foreign energy he found in his body, he channeled all that energy to the tip of his fingers.

In the next moment, a very cold breeze lashed out in the entire dining hall and around their house. The magic globe glowed a white light that could brighten the darkest abyss.

Feeling that something was about to burst out. He tried to channel his star power back into his body, but he could not. Suddenly, Yu Chen's mana erupted.

The Magic Globe was frozen and completely shattered. Jia Li was almost frozen. If it not for Li Jie's fire energy, she would have been frozen into a popsicle.

"Yu'er! Are you alright!?" Li Jie asked as he went to look at Yu Chen. He was sweating profusely.

"I am fine, Dad. I think I pushed a bit too much," said Yu Chen.

"Haha! We were both shocked by the scene you caused!" Li Jie said, laughing merrily.

"What is my star power level, Dad?" Yu Chen asked eagerly.

"You are at the middle stage of level five! You are simply a genius Yu'er!" said Jia Li excitedly.
