Chapter 5: Missing piece

Han felt tears trickle down his cheeks, he felt like his whole world had collapsed into millions of pieces, pieces that could not be counted, rather, countless.

Han's heart tightened each second, tears continuously streaming down his face. He felt a mix of regret, sorrow, and guilt upon reading Elias's journal. He never expected that he would receive such a happy life in exchange for taking away someone truly dear to him.

"W-why... if there would be a price for my joyous life, why must it be someone important to me..? Is this the universe's way of getting me back? You could've sacrificed someone else!"

Han's emotions turned from sadness to extreme anger. He blamed himself for not even giving a single glance at Elias for the past few months. He really, really, felt angry at himself and wanted Elias to come back. But of course, resurrection from the dead is highly impossible in this universe.

But if it were another universe, could he make it up to Elias somehow? Will Elias forgive him?

If Elias were to be absent in his life, entirely, then Han would have no joy and purpose in his life. He realized how much Elias truly meant to him, and how much Elias made a great impact on his life. Without Elias, who would keep him company during his lowest point?

Han never believed in 'otherworldly universes'. But for some reason, at this moment, he just hoped that maybe, just maybe, in another universe, or maybe in another lifetime, he could meet Elias once more and make it up to him.
