Chapter 3

"Sushi, sushi, delicious and smooth sushi..."

Mu hummed an out of tune and put each freshly squeezed sushi into a plate.

The sunlight was bright, and the shelves were dazzling. It's still early, and there weren't many customers in the supermarket, which looked empty and quiet. Mu, wearing her shabby red salesperson uniform, stood behind the counter, idle, and picked out a few sushi dishes that she thought were the most beautiful and satisfactory, and placed them on an empty plate to take photos.

When it came to photography technology, although the quality of her phone camera was on average, the photos she took were always praised by people.

In the background blurred by light and shadow, each grain of rice appeared crystal clear and full, with green seaweed and red fish flesh, and clear and beautiful colors. She posted the photo on Facebook, accompanied by a literary phrase: "A day soaked in the aroma of food with salmon sushi and tuna rolls - by Mu."

Soon, a bunch of people commented and liked.

High school classmate A: "It's so beautiful!"

High school classmate B: "Is it really good to have hate in the morning? I was still rushing to the office on the subway and didn't have breakfast!"

High school classmate C: "Mu is pretending to be artistic again, sweating."

Cosmetic salesperson girl: "Mu took a great photo!"

The meat salesperson said, "Hehe, pork is the king!"

High school classmate D: "Ah Mu is thriving in the supermarket. Come to me to play when you have time. Our lychees are almost ripe."

Mu leaned against the counter, looking at it with great joy. Suddenly, Rose carried two large durians and passed by. She was a salesperson in the fruit department, took a deep breath, and threw the durian onto the shelf. Then she leaned over to Mu, glanced at her, and muttered, "You know you're poor and happy!"

Mu put down her phone and said, "Am I poor, so I can't be happy anymore?"

Rose chuckled and glanced at the decent sushi she made. She couldn't help but sigh, "Why do you always apply to change departments, keep changing?"

"Don't you know? My career goal is to master seventy-two unique skills in supermarkets..." said Mu with a stern expression.

"Fuck you!" Rose interrupted her with a suppressed smile and said in a low voice, "Don't think I don't know. You want to climb up. You've already obtained your undergraduate diploma from the self-study exam, right? It's from J University. Hmph, you're beautiful again. In the future, if you climb up, don't forget me..."

Mu was in a dilemma and said, "But as the saying goes, don't abandon a wife who is suffering from shared sadness..."

Rose gave her a knock reward on her head.

The general manager of Supermarket was Meng, 35 years old, single and divorced.

He always arrived at the office early every day and began to control the operation of the supermarket throughout the day. He often worked late and lelt work with those salespeople and cashiers. Although the salespeople didn't dare to talk to him, everyone knew that it was under his leadership that this supermarket was able to maintain its top revenue in country for several consecutive years.

On this day, Meng convened a weekly meeting of management cadres from various departments as usual. The morning sunshine was still warm, and in the large conference room, everyone sat around a table. Meng sat in the main seat, holding a cigarette between his fingers, smoking calmly. The sunlight fell between his square eyebrows and eyes, and his already tall figure gave him a slightly rough and majestic appearance.

The atmosphere was originally calm and serious. But when it was the marketing manager's turn to speak, someone faintly smiled.

Because the marketing manager brought a piece of news: Cheng, the chairman and marketing director of the competitor Y Supermarket, had a car accident last night. Although theres is no life-threatening condition, the injury is severe.

"Y just announced that he will open a new store 1.5 kilometers across from us, and they have taken over all the land on the Second Ring Road. However, the marketing director in charge of preparing for the new store had a car accident." The office director said calmly, "I think their new store will be delayed."

The purchasing manager had a fiery personality and sneered, "To be honest, I don't sympathize with them. We're doing well here, and Y sees our good performance, so he insists on opening a store across the street, competing with us, and grabbing business. Say something you shouldn't say, you deserve it."

Everyone was gossiping about it with a hint of schadenfreude. Meng sat in the main seat, although he didn't speak, he was never a kind and benevolent person, and occasionally a smile appeared on his lips.

"Mr. Meng." The marketing manager said thoughtfully," I heard that one of her friends who had a car accident with Cheng this time was a helper she brought back from the United States to help her operate the new store."

Someone asked, 'Who is the United States?'

"It seems to be Cheng's college classmate, a young man in his twenties."

"Heh... "someone laughed and said to Meng," Mr. Meng, Miss Cheng brought her college classmates back to play together. Y really played a bad hand this time."

Everyone laughed, and Meng also smiled slightly and said, "Don't take it lightly. Y's operations have always been stable, and several new stores have recently opened in other cities with good performance. When they open a store, we still need to be fully prepared and beat them down. By the way, what is the name of the helper Cheng invited back?"

The marketing manager thought for a moment and replied, "It seems to be called... Beck."
