Chapter 26: Experience It Every Night

Inara rushed out of his sight, crying. Alexander attempted to follow her, but Zephyr stopped him, saying, "Give her some time and explain your true identity to her rather than keeping it from her. Though it will be difficult for her to accept, it happened to me: my mate, Yivanne, became afraid of me when she discovered my true identity. However, she embraced who I am; she is a witch," Zephyr revealed, and Alexander's eyes flared even more, "Yivanne is your mate, and she is a witch?"

"Yes. I couldn't find the right time to tell you, and she'd be terrified if you knew, so I kept it a secret. You won't be furious with me, right?" Zephyr asked gently. Alexander used a finger as a symbol of acceptance, saying, "I can't tell her because I'm different; it's best if she never knew about the creature that lives in her midst. She is my wife, yet I am being overly secretive with her,"

Alexander entered the room, but Inara did not respond; instead, she remained silent. He walked closer to her and sat beside her, "You're crying, wifey? Are you…, "Is it accurate to describe what happened back then? You, "No, you didn't give me time to explain myself…, "I don't want to see your face, just let me be for tonight," she replied, cutting him off abruptly. He wanted to say something, but chose to leave her; since she opts for privacy.

"Alright, goodnight, wifey," Alexander remarked before exiting the room, causing Inara to fall into tears.

The following day, a bunch of maids went inside, shocking Inara, because she wasn't expecting any guests, or rather they're not expecting any guests, "Good morning, Your Highness, Young Master asked us to give you these dresses, and you can pick whomever you like," they said, as Inara furrowed her brow in confusion and surprise.

"My husband? What's up with this occasion? Do you understand why I'm…, "Pardon us, but Young Master would like you to be present at the palace on the third anniversary of the King's third wife. Which of those dresses would you want to utilize, Your Highness?" a maid asked quietly.

"Stop referring to me as 'Your Highness'; you could call me any name else without adding any title," Inara replied calmly, to which they immediately apologized for dismissing her proposal, "Your Highness, you're the princess of Moonlight Kingdom, and we ought to show you some respect. Young Master also asked us to have you inspect these dresses,"

Inara approached a carriage, presuming it was theirs, and attempted to enter, but a lovely yet strict voice reverberated behind her, "Seems you want to go without me, wifey," but Inara ignored it and walked in, seeming upset. They assumed the scenario but couldn't say anything.

Alexander entered, and they closed the door. Inara was seated five inches away from him, "Looks like you're upset about something; are you too sick to attend this? You could have been left behind; if not, it's critical that you come, but you can tell me if you don't want to," he continued, but received no reaction from her.

After a short ride, the carriage came to a standstill, signifying that they had arrived at the palace. Inara waited for him to come down first, then unwillingly walked down. The palace dining room was filled with various royal figures.

King Gael greeted everyone, and even if he partly disregarded Alexander, he doesn't care. But Inara was perplexed; why was he called there and treated differently? Basil observed her and attempted to have a conversation with her, but she completely disregarded him; he was aware of Alexander's reappearance.

The third wife, Queen Magret, enthusiastically welcomed her son while ignoring Alexander as everyone else did, "So, my son, do you have any wishes or desires you would like me to fulfill this minute?" Queen Magret inquired with a bloody sneer across her scarlet lips.

"My greatest wish is getting married to the woman I love, which's the princess of the Moonlight Kingdom," Basil said proudly, making Inara's heart skip a beat, she grasped her dress tightly and her head turned to the floor, "So, princess of the Moonlight Kingdom, does my son acknowledge his love for you?" Queen Magret directed her attention upon her.

"My happiness should matters to you, and rather your selfish interest; I'm legally married to Young Master of the Duke Empire, and I see no reason why I would choose someone else," Inara replied pluckily, standing to her feet and bowed to the King and Queen, "Kindly excuse me, I need to attend to some important matters, but I'd be back shortly," she remarked before leaving almost too quickly.

It went on for three days, with Inara avoiding Alexander and preferring to stay indoors. No matter how hard he tried to get back her attention, it was always useless, and he doesn't want to generate any more bad motives into her mind.

"Is she still not responding?" Zephyr inquired, and Alexander nodded gently, "She kept acting weird after what happened, and she always chooses to be alone these days," Alexander mumbled, "I believe she will come around soon; should I bring Yiv over? For the time being, "No, it'll be sorted very soon, I don't want to be a tool that triggers her iliness," he finished, to which Zephyr nodded in assent.

Alexander was ready to attempt chatting to Inara again when he noticed the door was left open. He looked about for her in the room but found no trace of her. He then asked the guards, who told her she had just left the room in a rush to chase a pigeon.

Alexander walked towards the garden, but didn't see her anywhere, the guards looked so scared to even say a word to defend themselves, "I'm literally being told that my wife's missing without any consent?" he asked angrily, and they all fell to their knees in fear, "Young Master, we really tried our hardest to stop her, but she refused," they begged in tears.

Forest approached and bowed, "Still no location of her whereabouts," Forest stated, making Alexander glance at him with a crimson gaze, almost wanting to kill him on the spot, but he restrained himself, "Get me a befitting horse, I'll look for her myself," he declared coldly, surprising him.

"But, Young Master, we would surely find her before dawn, it's late already…., "And you suppose I would just wait for feedback until my wife died?" Alexander remarked harshly, and Forest bit his bottom lip with distaste.

"Yes, Young Master,"

Inara tried her hardest to catch up with the pigeon, but it was faster than her, despite being injured. She was chasing it furiously, and she had previously hurt herself. She wanted to grasp the pigeon after flying down to the ground, but she lost her balance and tumbled to the floor, only to be seized by a hard hand.

Inhaling the scent, she knew who it was, and instead embraced herself more on it, "It's late, and cold outside," Alexander observed calmly, but Inara shook her head in displeasure and removed her body from his, "That pigeon needs help, and I'm not leaving without her," Inara declared forcefully, dusting her clothes and attempting to stand.

"Let's go home, it's just a pigeon," Alexander remarked, sounding a little angry, but it was hidden, "No, I'm not leaving without her; don't you realize she's dying? She has helped me a lot, and I will never leave her for anything else," she cried fiercely.

Alexander rose to his feet and turned to face her, "Would you rather have me or the pigeon? Me or the pigeon?" he questioned sternly, stunning Inara; she had never seen him so upset at her before. Alexander moved away from her after a few minutes of waiting and not responding.

Inara has been Inside their personal room, waiting for Alexander for what feels like an eternity. After a few minutes, he walked in without looking at her side and over to the bed.

Inara walked in, having gone after waiting far too long, yet she approached him fiercely, "Why? Why did you have to hurt me again? You cheated on me, this time with Suzyo rather than any of your other mistresses. I can smell her all over you; am I really a lousy wife?"

"So, what are you? You expect me not to do what I want now that you've pushed me beyond my control, right? According to my commitment, I never declared that I would never cheat on you again; instead, I promised to be 'married to you alone.' You should be grateful for that," Alexander answered fiercely, causing more tears to fall from her eyes.

"You choose to wear another woman's smell because you believe I am always useless. Even though I couldn't meet the majority of your requirements, I'm doing my best to be a better wife to you in every way I could," Inara wept, but Alexander was unmoved.

"From now on, if you continue to force me against the wall, I will always hurt you. I'm not being overly hopeful; I'd rather tell you about the worth of abandoning me for a pigeon, as well as my wants, which you could never meet. But other women would do; you will experience it every night, wifey, and it doesn't mean I will not torture you each night,"
