Chapter 84 : last battle

At that moment I began to chant, while Lili chanted on her own. After a few seconds, the tempest armor manifested on my four limbs while the rest of my body was covered in dark armor, courtesy of Lili.

I grabbed the fourth rank monster cores and stuffed them into my mouth. Without hesitation, I ran straight to where the six-star ogre was. With my boosted speed, I was basically invisible to anyone of my rank, but the ogre was a six-star being and could see my movements with ease.

Still, with the daggers in my hands, I approached at full speed head-on. At that moment, the ogre swung his axe down with the intention of cutting me in half. I was already too close and too fast to do anything, but I was ready.

At the last moment, I moved just enough so that he didn't cut me in half, but my arm wasn't as lucky and was chopped off at the root. Still, I gritted my teeth, this pain was nothing. Within my reach, I passed the monster's guard and, with a leap, got close enough so that it couldn't easily use its weapon.

Just at that moment, dark tentacles coming from the armor came out and grabbed the severed arm that had gone flying, pulling it back into place, at the instate I could afford to move it as if nothing had happened. Without a second's respite, with a fluid movement I continued my actions as if nothing had happened.

Art of the Lightning God, First Stance: Fulminating Impact.

I was close enough to stab both my daggers into his eyes with a quick penetrating attack.

"Gaaaa,...ogh" shouted the ogre.

But the ogre was too big and I wasn't powerful enough to hurt it badly besides temporarily taking its eyesight, with its vitality it would recover in time. But seizing the moment when he screamed, without any hesitation I released both daggers.

Art of the Eclipse, Third Stance: Twilight Blast.

With my hands, which were only covered with the tempest armor, I thrust them into his mouth, putting as much mana as I could into my hand and art. I pierced the top of the inside of his mouth, lodging my hand using it as a weapon. There was an explosion inside, still, the vitality and defense of a rank six being is no joke.

I kept taking my hand out and putting it back in until I noticed I no longer had it. Without a moment's respite, I slipped the other one in and repeated until I felt I had completely shattered the inside of his head.

"Ha, hahaaaa," I was breathing heavily, but I still knew I had to continue. With what little mana I had, I chanted a healing light spell again to regenerate my hands, making the trait work as best I could to regenerate them.

I took the necklace I had taken from Sakura and inserted it into the ogre's destroyed head. The medallion seemed to have absorbed all its blood and was glowing with a golden, but at the same time reddish glow, making it look holy, but at the same time ominous.

But I paid no attention to this and just placed it on my neck. I took my daggers again and took the core of the six-star ogre opening its chest. At that moment, I swallowed it. I felt how the energy was flooding my body and it was meant to destroy me.

I did my best to withstand it with my holy will and sealed traits, but the energy was too colossal. If I didn't draw it out, I would explode from the excess mana, but I just needed to hold on for a moment. I looked back and in my view I could see two creatures the same size as the now dead blood red ogre begin to emerge from the rift.

I got into a running stance and began to run. At that moment and before I noticed, I was already hidden by dark concealment spells that Lili put on at some point taking advantage of the energy overflow, so the ogres didn't notice my approach.

I was running at top speed with my brain working at maximum speed. I saw the two ogres looking in my direction, but they were only looking at the corpse of their companion.

I was going with a momentum and speed I had never achieved in this life, fueled by the overflowing core mana I consumed. My eyes were pointed and focused only on my target, using myself as a weapon. I charged without thought of the consequences.

Art of Celestial Punishment, Sixth Posture: Celestial Burst.

I visualized myself Feeling like a spearhead to complete the art, I collided with one of the two orcs, who either out of instinct or because my concealment wasn't working with so much energy emitting, tried to block me at the last second, but it was too late for him.

"Bannk.!!!"

"arg!"

A dull impact sounded as I collided with him. The impact pushed him, sending him, flying along with me. We both rolled across the ground at high speed. Even though I was flying out of control, I was seeing everything slowly due to my racing mind.

I saw how small dark barriers began to form on the path where I was rolling because of all the kinetic energy I was still carrying. I crashed into them, breaking them, but they didn't cause me any damage at all and were absorbing the impact I was carrying, until I stopped without any extra injuries.

Still, my arms were bent from the impact I made with the ogre. Tentacles came out of my armor again and, without any mercy, forced both of them back to their original position. I was already running back in the direction where the ogre flew off, again gaining great momentum.

Art of the Sun God, Fifth Stance: Luminous Flash.

Further increasing my momentum, I became a beam of light that illuminated and swept everything in its path like a small sun. The ogre who was down and recovering from the impact had no time for anything when I was already in front of him. My daggers were now able to penetrate his sockets, causing him damage and melting the inside of his head from the damage they caused.

Still, he had room to hit me with his hands, but I didn't move and endured his blows that would have made me pulp if not for Lili's armor, as well as the absorption, will, regeneration traits that held my body together.

"Die, damn you," I pulled the daggers out of the ogre's eyes and reburied them using Twilight Blast to cause more damage. My body was at its limits and my brain busy as I chanted spells to heal myself while performing the art.

That's when five shadows came out of nowhere and held the ogre's limbs. They didn't last long, but it was enough to gain me a few seconds; the ogre slowly stopped resisting and lost its strength. I continued to thrust my daggers without stopping until I noticed that it was dead.

I quickly pulled the core out of his body again. The mana was still wreaking havoc on my body, even if I had already spent more than half of it. Everything from the time I started running until I killed the second red ogre happened in a few seconds. I took no breath and, with my mind that would have already been burned out if not for my will and regeneration, I refocused on the last ogre and started a new run, gaining momentum.

Sonic blasts could be heard as I ran, but they were not a good sign as they meant I was losing control of my mana. Still, I was willing to repeat the previous, but the last one was already on full guard. Nevertheless, I continued.

Art of the Sun God, Third Posture: radiance.

At that moment with my daggers radiating light, I collided with his axe and tried to deflect it, but before I could even complete the art, I felt a great sense of danger next to me, right where the crack was. It was too late to do anything; I could feel a lethal sensation approaching.

But at that moment, the rest of the shadows at high speed came to my defense. They were destroyed, but managed to block the attack. That small distraction of my attention was enough for the ogre, who before I noticed it used its foot to kick me.

The angle and force was such that it sent me flying upwards at a speed I could not process. That blow was beyond what I could take. My consciousness was blurry, and I couldn't even tell the state of my body I didn't feel any pain I didn't know if I was still going up or down, everything was dark and spinning.

[Hoye, Lux... h-hey, react, hoye] I could hear Lili's voice, which sounded blurry in my ears. Slowly, everything went back to darkness.
