Monsters From The Creek (Part 3)

Before Rem could even take a step toward the children, the remnants of the monsters burst from the flaming river, leaping into the air with startling speed.

The Swamplizards, their thick armor glinting under the fading light, hit the ground with a heavy thud and immediately began charging toward him. There were at least ten or fifteen of them, their guttural cries piercing the air as they closed the distance with alarming speed – their eyes were glowing, with rage as they planned to gang up and put an end to Rem immediately.

Despite the sudden onslaught, Rem didn't even flinch. He didn't even bother to turn around.

His attention remained fixed on the children, who were still a safe distance away. There was no need to worry about them — they would be fine. But this… this was a challenge he couldn't ignore.
