Chapter 674: Professor McGonagall's foresight

"Fuu!"

Hermione let out a soft sigh.

Voldemort had just made a comeback in the British wizarding world, and Grindelwald had escaped from prison in Europe.

Once, they two joined forces, she was afraid that not only the wizarding world but also the muggle world would face unrest.

Although Voldemort had been much more restrained these days, many of his Death Eaters took pleasure in torturing muggles.

While at home during the summer holidays, Hermione read a lot of news about 'terrorist attacks'.

Muggles might not catch on, but Hermione, as a witch, knew at a glance that they were the Dark Wizard's handiwork.

Recalling what Andy had said...

Dumbledore would completely eliminate Voldemort this year!

Hermione turned to look at Andy, hoping that Andy and Dumbledore would defeat Voldemort as soon as possible!

After leafing through a few pages, Andy looked at the other reports.

However, the content of the articles was basically the same. In the face of such a sensational event that has shaken the entire wizarding community, trivial topics no longer matter.

Putting down the newspaper, Andy opened the letter from home.

The letter from home also contained the same content. Kyle also mentioned some internal activities of the Ministry of Magic in the letter.

After this defeat, there was panic within the Ministry of Magic, and some people were even preparing to resign and leave the British wizarding community. Rumours unfavourable to Dumbledore were also spreading under the table.

Regardless of Dumbledore's reasons, it was a fact that he did not participate in the Battle of Diagon Alley.

In fact, from an objective point of view, this matter could not be blamed on Dumbledore at all.

Who doesn't have some personal things to take care of... right?

Besides, Dumbledore was neither an Auror nor a Hit Wizard of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He was just the Hogwarts Headmaster. In terms of his responsibilities, he was not obliged to fight in the war.

But the human mind is such a strange thing.

Kyle mentioned in his letter that many people in the Ministry of Magic blamed Dumbledore for the defeat.

They believed that the Ministry had suffered heavy casualties entirely because Dumbledore had not shown up, which had allowed Voldemort and the Death Eaters to defeat the Ministry head-on.

Kyle also told Andy to guard against Dumbledore.

He felt that the old man might not be as harmless as he appeared.

"Andy..."

Hermione tugged at Andy's sleeve and raised her chin, indicating for Andy to look over there.

Andy looked up.

A girl was crying bitterly at the Gryffindor table, clutching a letter in her hands.

Andy cancelled the silencing charm and the noise from the Great Hall flooded in.

"I know her..."

Hermione whispered in Andy's ear. "Her name is Anna; she's a year older than us. Her father was an Auror, and it looks like...he's been killed."

Andy sighed.

The Battle of Diagon Alley...

In terms of scale, the Battle of Diagon Alley was only a minor conflict. The number of people involved on both sides was probably less than 200.

But even though it was small in scale, casualties were inevitable.

It might be unreasonable for these people who had lost their loved ones to take out their anger on Dumbledore, but that was human nature. Anger always needed an outlet.

Until they calm down, they probably won't listen to any reason.

Fortunately, Andy had nothing to do with this incident.

In this incident, Andy was just an onlooker.

Suddenly, there was a commotion behind him. Andy turned around and saw, predictably, it was nothing more than a squabble between Gryffindor and Slytherin.

Harry and Ron were the most vocal on the Gryffindor side.

Malfoy, on the other hand, was not involved... Ever since Malfoy Senior betrayed Voldemort, he had been ostracised by the wider Slytherin social circle.

Slytherin was now roughly divided into two factions.

One was the Death Eater reserve.

The other was the pro-surrender faction led by Malfoy.

Well... they could also be considered the resistance faction.

Not all Slytherins liked Voldemort; they simply thirsted for power and worshipped the strong.

The two sides argued fiercely, and Andy faintly heard the names 'Dumbledore' and 'Snape'.

Patting Hermione on the shoulder, Andy whispered, "Let's go out."

The Great Hall would probably no longer be peaceful, and Andy didn't want to get involved. Harry and Ron had a terrible lack of emotional intelligence, and Andy was worried that they would say something inappropriate and inexplicably get him involved.

"Mmm." Hermione nodded slightly.

As soon as they left the Great Hall, Andy ran into Professor McGonagall, who was walking towards them.

Her face showed that she was not in the best possible mood. "Mr Collins, Miss Granger, did the fight start inside?"

Andy and Hermione exchanged a glance.

Professor McGonagall was really quite perceptive.

"Not yet..."

Andy quickly stepped aside, making a way. "But it will start soon."

Professor McGonagall: "..."

If Gryffindor and Slytherin fight again, it will be the third year in a row.

It's not terrible to lose the House Cup.

What's terrible is ending up at the foot of the House points table year after year.

What's even more terrible is breaking the record for being at the lowest every passing year.

Professor McGonagall hurriedly took a few steps, then abruptly stopped and turned to look at Andy and said, "Mr Collins, please wait a moment; I have something I want to tell you."

After saying this, Professor McGonagall did not wait for Andy to reply and hurriedly walked towards the Great Hall.

Pushing open the door to the Great Hall, Professor McGonagall looked around, and then her voice boomed across the hall, "Quiet..."

"Okay..." Andy replied to Professor McGonagall.

Taking out a piece of clothing from the space pocket, Andy used Transfiguration to turn it into a big armchair.

"Hermione, let's sit for a while!"

Andy said, "It's going to take a lot of effort to calm the young wizard's emotions, so we have a long wait ahead of us."

Hermione sat down next to Andy and asked curiously, "Andy, what do you think Professor McGonagall wanted to see you about?"

"It probably has something to do with Professor Dumbledore,"

Andy guessed, "But judging by the way Professor McGonagall acted, she didn't initially seem prepared to talk to me, so I don't think it was anything important."

"Huh,"

Hermione sighed, "I really hope that these days will pass quickly."

"It's almost over!"

Andy leaned back in the armchair and lightly wrapped his arm around Hermione to reassure her. "Voldemort has caused such a stir this time that Professor Dumbledore will have no choice but to deal with him."

"Without dealing with Voldemort, the professor won't be able to concentrate on dealing with Grindelwald."

Hermione nodded.

From this incident, it can be seen that in Dumbledore's mind, Grindelwald is far more threatening than Voldemort.

Voldemort is just hard to kill.

But Grindelwald really has the potential to subvert the current order of the wizarding world.

So he chose to deal with Grindelwald first — after all, at this time, Grindelwald had just escaped from prison, and his strength and influence had not yet reached their peak.

This was the time when Grindelwald would be at his weakest.

Andy didn't know the ins and outs of the two men's confrontation, but it was clear that Dumbledore was unable to get away at the moment.

This gave Voldemort an opportunity.

And Voldemort seized this opportunity to show the world his madness.

After this incident, Grindelwald would be able to catch his breath.

'Heh, it seems like the wizarding world has become more colourful, too.'

Andy thought to himself.
