Chapter 771: Mist Justu

Room of Requirement, practice room.

After dinner, Andy reassured his mum and stayed for the night, returning to Hogwarts in the early morning.

Today, after breakfast, Andy planned to focus on modifying spells in the Room of Requirement, since this training increased the potential points accumulation speed.

So Andy told Hermione he was going to modify and create new variations of spells. Then she tagged along, saying that she wanted to show her results of training in the fusion spell as well, in a quite confident and show-off tone.

Thus, they went to the Room of Requirement.

As soon as they entered, Hermione eagerly showed off the spell she mastered.

Looking at the steam all around the room, Andy felt surprised, and various ideas popped up in his mind.

Maybe some scientific theories can be used in spell combinations to create new spells.

This spell uses a combination of the Water-Making Spell and the Fire-Making Spell to create a steam-like fog that can obscure vision in a large-scale area.

Moreover, she managed to combine them and make a new spell.

"Isn't this spell useful. Although these two are basic spells, their fusion spell is quite difficult to use." Hermione explained in a showing-off tone. "In some tries, boiling water will shoot out; in some, scalding steam will come out; in some, mist and fog will come. It is difficult to remember the perfect combination and replicate the effects."

"Only when I had mastered those spells enough to cast them wandlessly was I able to cast the combinations easily."

"Though, I wasn't able to use the scalding steam combination freely because it would also affect me with just a little miss."

"But thanks to your recent full-body shield charm, that can be used as well. And we can use..."

Hermione went on and on about this spell combination for a while, switching to her know-it-all personality.

"Do you think we can combine Illusion Charm with this spell?" Andy asked.

When he looked at the fog, he suddenly thought about Mist Jutsus in Naruto.

"Illusion Charm? The spell used to confuse and disorient the target." Hermione turned to Andy and asked with a thoughtful look.

As the fog dispersed, they could now see each other.

"Yes. Using the mist, we can confuse and disorient the senses easily, right? Making the opponent walk in a circle and get trapped inside the mist."

"If we can see in the mist, it would become an even more useful spell," Andy said, musing about how to do that and other combinations.

Lumos charm? No, with that, the enemy can also find our location.

"Good idea, I will try it. With a good enough transfiguration spell, we can even transfigure the fog to bind and attack the target." Hermione began to mumble like Deku, "But enemies can do that too, though it may be harder for them to control our spell."

"Transfiguration?" Andy asked.

When thinking about transfiguration, he suddenly thought of a broken combination.

"Hermione, do you think we can transfigure an injured person into an object and cast a Mending Charm to fix them?" Andy continued.

"But Mending Charm can't repair magic, right?" Hermione answered. "So, it can only be used on muggles."

"You know, even if it can mend a broken wand, it can't restore the magic inside."

"But we can give it a try, though."

At her answer, Andy asked with a surprised look. "Do you want to experiment on wizards?"

"Hey. Well, but if you want, I will catch a few evil dark wizards for you."

Hermione looked confused for a second, and then, when she realised, she shook her head a few times. "No, no, no, no."

"What I mean is testing it on magical creatures stored in the castle for potion class."

"Why is your thought always going on such a dark side. Don't do anything stupid; I don't want my boyfriend to get sent to Azkaban."

Who can send him to Azkaban? Dumbledore or Grindelwald? Would the Ministry even try to arrest him for such a small thing?

"Okay, Miss Minister." Andy joked and saluted, making her puff her cheeks and turn her head, though there was a slight smile in her eyes.

After the fog fully dispersed, Andy said, "Okay, now it's my turn."

"Seeing your spell, I got a few ideas that I want to try as well."

"Have you learned that lightning spell?" Andy asked, pointing his wand at the target. A small ball of light from a wand-lighting charm appeared on his wand tip, and zips of electric rays swam all around the orb.

Then, when he focused, a beam of light shot out and penetrated the wooden target, leaving a small hole. It then hit the wall opposite, leaving a scorching mark on it.

"Is it that lightning charm?" Hermione asked with a wide jaw.

"Doesn't this look cool? Combination of wand-lighting charm and lightning charm. I will call this laser spell. And it seems to have a longer range compared to other spells." Andy said in a pretend calm tone with his head raised slightly.

Looking at the stars in her eyes, Andy asked, "Do you want to learn it?"

Seeing her nod, he tried to teach her the spell.

After a short while, looking at the holes all around, Andy said, "I think it is best to test the spells on the magical creatures in the Forbidden Forest."

"Their magic resistance will help us a lot. It will also increase our practical combat experience."

He suddenly remembered Acromantula venom. So he asked.

"Andy, they are protected creatures and Hogwarts assets. So, we can't injure or harm them." Hermione pointed out.

"I heard Forbidden Forest is infested with Acromantulas. So we are just going to control their number and help other creatures in the forest." Andy explained and justified, "They are dangerous, evil, dark creatures, capable of eating humans. So, what we are going to do is just bring justice to the world."

Yes, he just wanted to bring justice. He is not targeting them for their venom, definitely not.

"Ac-Acro-mantula?" Hermione stammered.

Looking at her expression, Andy smiled. "Yes, we can make a trip this evening."

"But- but they are spiders."

"Don't worry; we can just burn them all if they get near us."

Then after a few minutes, Andy somehow convinced her.

Later, after lunch, while they were making preparations for their trip to the Forbidden Forest on their own, owls from Carrow and Rita arrived one by one, bearing replies to his letter.
