105: The Complex Human Nature

"May we meet victorious."

 

Two voices spoke those words at the same time, and two palms squeezed each other with a strength that conveyed support and confidence. Under the golden neon lights that crisscrossed the concrete ceiling of the Hall of Judgement, Mir and Murray saw each other off after a solemn discussion. 

 

Murray made his way towards the ancient wooden door that depicted Sunbreaker's seal at a massive scale.

Carved on the wood were five ebony fingers crushing a decaying star, an intimidating vision to any observer. 

 

Unlike traditional doors, it wasn't formed by two equal, symmetrical, sheets of wood. It was an intact, polished, slab fashioned out of a whole centennial tree, fitted into the opening of the courtroom with gleaming silver levers and golden hinges on all four sides.
