Michael was like an arrow that had taken off. He doesn't know the words quit or mercy.
"Y-you... who sent you? David or maybe Cleo?"
Michael pulled the corners of his lips again, "There has to be someone to clean up the trash. Besides, does knowing who I am bring any benefit to you?"
Michael grabbed the man's hand. Holding his little finger and preparing a pair of pliers. The man shook his head to plead but his hands were paralyzed and he couldn't move them.
"You should be taught a lesson not to steal. I heard you've betrayed and killed someone, a friend of mine." Michael said softly but full of emphasis and anger in each word.
"You're just going to kill me so don't be so patronizing, you hypocrite. You also killed people!"
Michael cut the man's little finger with pliers like breaking a wire. The man could only cry while grimacing in pain. Michael got up and put his little finger in a piece of plastic. "I really don't want to do this but I have to."
"I have to do this." he muttered to himself then he looked back at that man. "And you're absolutely right. Fellow evildoer, see you in hell." Michael said as a sign that he had finished his action. "And uh, I don't think you're going to call anyone so I'm taking this back." he continued as he picked up his cell phone.
The middle-aged man only had 30 seconds left. After Michael left, the man quickly crept towards the parking door. He screamed for help desperately but his voice didn't come out. His tongue was numb and all that came out was wind that not even the ants could hear. He opened his mouth and reached out but no sound was heard and not an inch of his body moved from where he was.
Michael walked out of the parking lot.
The parking CCTV wasn't working, but Michael didn't know that there was another camera that was recording his actions just now. The brave person was Aleyah, who was currently covering her mouth to muffle her screams with her other hand still holding the camera. He zoomed in on the recording screen as Michael exited the crowded parking area. Aleyah is now hiding among the many four-wheeled vehicles. From this angle alone it was enough for Aleyah to be able to see Michael's face freely from where she was monitoring.
Her hands were sore. Her finger accidentally pressed to stop recording. Aleyah cursed and went back to taking pictures of Michael's face. As soon as the sound of the cell phone clicking was heard, Michael's steps suddenly stopped. Aleyah put her cell phone away and pressed herself closer to the car.
"Shit! Shit!" Aleyah cursed repeatedly. "We'll be found out," she whispered to the black shadows. "We'll be doomed if this woman is found out now. Please God, make that bastard suddenly blind..." Aleyah muttered softly while clenching her palms.
Aleyah was still waiting in the same place. She had already finished counting to ten silently. No more footsteps could be heard. The man must have walked away, she thought. Aleyah was sneaking around again. She was still curious about the route the man had taken. Just as one strand of hair appeared, Michael immediately noticed her presence. Aleyah immediately clung to the car again.
The man started walking closer to her. Aleyah could hear the sound of his footsteps. She had to walk quickly to another car this time. The black shadows surrounded Michael and tried to scare him like they did Aleyah. But Michael just passed them by. In this world, only Aleyah could see them and that girl became very precious to them. So they tried so hard not to let Aleyah get caught or worse, be killed by him.
They haven't handed this evidence over to Jeremy, their business with this cold-blooded killer isn't finished yet. So she needed to hide somewhere further away. Aleyah and Michael looked like a cat that was chasing a mouse. And they didn't meet eyes this whole time. Aleyah is still crawling from a cat to another car and she hid her face when a car drove past her.
Michael did exactly the same, He turned his head as the car drove off and looked back at the neat row of cars in front of him. Michael looked at the time on his right hand. He already spent 60 seconds checking for any irregularities. "Cats," he said, a little annoyed.
Not long after that, someone appeared in front of him. Aleyah squinted to find out who was standing in front of Michael. She never saw that face and it is a rare sight that Michael works with someone.
"Did you cut off his little finger?" asked Lucas.
Michael threw a plastic bag and was caught by Lucas, the person who is now interfering in his work. Lucas held the plastic edge in disgust. "Ugh this is nasty. What about his body?"
Michael rubbed the two small knives he just used to finish off his targets with a cloth. He looked at Lucas and pointed at the end of the parking lot with a gesture of his chin. Lucas raised his eyebrow, "In a parking lot? Seriously? You have to make it obvious. Make it seems like you're gonna do it again tomorrow," he nagging never stopped.
Michael sighed then reached for his cell phone. He dialed a number and put the phone closer to his ear. Lucas asked what he was going to do but the man didn't answer and kept waiting 'till the phone call was answered.
"211, what's your emergency?"
"I will do it again on the 14th of this month. Next time try harder to stop me, officer. Track this cell phone if you have trouble finding the victim's whereabouts instead of wasting gas." he said arrogantly while looking closely at Lucas.
Lucas scoffs and nods his head in total shock then praises what Michael does. Michael hung up the phone when the police on the other side started shouting at him. "Obvious and they are mad, satisfied?" Michael replied coldly then left the cellphone right where he was standing.
Aleyah tightened her grip. She heard Michael and Lucas' dialogue clearly. "Those bastards are even playing games with the police. You guys just killed someone! You should feel guilty instead of considering it entertainment." Aleyah muttered vengefully until her eyes filled with tears.
Aleyah could still hear the loud sound from that cell phone. It was the sound of a policeman shouting his annoyance at criminals who were playing hide and seek with them. The policeman asked where the man was currently. Aleyah became interested in answering it. If she tells them where she is, the police will arrive there on time and may still be able to help the victim of that cold-blooded killer. Aleyah got up after watching Michael smash the car window and drove the car out of this place with his partner in crime.
Aleyah came out of hiding and immediately approached the cell phone. The black cellphone was located in the middle of an empty street but still in the parking area. It seemed very easy for her to reach it and she ran towards it but her steps just became slower. The male ghost cannot feel all the pain in Aleyah's body, but the human body is always honest.
"This body is beginning to weaken again, but maybe it's because I've been squatting for too long," Aleyah muttered, then she ignored the sensation of walking on a thin rope, focused on staring at the cell phone although her eyes were a little blurry. She ran fast towards it before the policeman call was turned off.
It felt like running but the only thing moving was the ghost. The teenage boy's ghost arrived in front of the cell phone but he couldn't move the cell phone, not even a little. Watching as the body of the human he had previously possessed was lying limply facing the ground.
It turned out that his spirit had been separated from Aleyah's body since the woman's steps faltered. Just like a middle-aged man has his time over poison, it turns out that ghosts have their own time. This is the limit. He could no longer take over Aleyah's body.
"Girl, wake up! The police will be here soon! This is not the right time to faint!" shouted the ghost in panic while surrounding that limp body.
Meanwhile, Aleyah closed her narrow eyes tightly. Falling asleep very soundly on the dusty ground near the cell phone that the police were calling repeatedly.
