Chapter Fifteen | Nostalgia Pt2

Sorry for being late, I was lazy...

____

Christian Alidini

Emma Amiyah Rashida  Hilam-Zlakov or Aldini-Parker, the crown princess of Varoline. Our very first child.

After we received the premonition from the oracle at our engagement party, I made sure for six years to protect Benia-Ewan.

We married five months after the engagement party, our first and traditional wedding was done with the Hilam clan in a sacred and secluded place to bless our union, then we married publicly in Varoline to show the people who was going to be their future high king.

And for the next five years, I made sure that my husband wouldn't get pregnant. It was considering the fact that I had pressure from everyone, my mother, my father, my close friends, the ministers and important people of the government, but most of all my lovely hubby.

He knew why I didn't want a baby, we were free to do whatever we wanted without the burden of a child, we traveled through dimensions and had a lot of fun. It worked the five first years.

Then he stopped taking my excuses, he wanted to have a child and man, he always got what wanted.

Less than a year later, he got indeed pregnant.

He was so thrilled about the news, I wasn't. I was scared of losing him, of being a father, a good one. I was scared for the baby who would grow up with the responsibility of one day governing an empire.

I remember having from time to time, panic attacks even after her birth.

His pregnancy was a total nightmare, he vomited a lot, felt sick for the entire first semester. Then he had an extreme change of mood, it was hard to deal with, we would fight a lot and he would cry. He fainted, had nosebleeds, weird ass cravings and it even intoxicated him. In short, it was the worst Nine months of my life I've ever lived but at the same time the greatest.

The birth of our princess was perhaps the most smooth moment of this  year. She was born after two days of labor, as she was in an incorrect position and the c-section was done in a rather short time.

After her birth, we had to get used to this new responsibility for the first few weeks, with the help of the nanny and our parents. We also were grateful to have such a sweet and lovely baby, she was an angel. She rarely cried, always joyful, a real ray of sunshine.

And years flew by with our little princess, so fast that was already three. And during her third birthday party, a regretful incident happened.

___

Our family and friends were present, we had just finished cutting the cake and we were all chatting.

Benia-Ewan was in the kitchen with his older sister to take the cake to the fridge. Everything was fine, until I heard something shattering. We all ran toward the kitchen to find my husband unconscious on the floor with foam on his lips.

"Hey, babe, babe wake up! Call an ambulance right now!" I screamed and the maid quickly contacted me. I turned angrily at his sister who was crying and clearly stunned. "What happened!?" I saw my daughter's face covered with tears, disoriented, not understanding what was happening.

"Daddy..." She whimpered, the dad of Benia-Ewan took her in her arms and told everyone to go in the garden. He told her that her dad was ok but he was a bit tired and that was the reason why he was sleeping on the ground. I was grateful for that.

"I-I don't know, we were chatting, he suddenly convulsed and fainted!" She said desperately, before almost fainting herself. Her husband came at rescue and grabbed her before she collapsed.

"Heskel I know you are shocked right now but please don't scream at her." Fiornan took her to the living room. The father of my husband helped me carry Benia-Ewan to the closest couch in the next room. The ambulance arrived five minutes later.

___

"It seems like your hurt was poisoned, it was a small dose of a plant that only grows in Myslenie. It's usually used to cause miscarriage, weaken the immune system and if used in a great dose, coma or death." The doctor explained, "I was livid, I felt nauseous." Fortunately for you, the poison didn't cause any damage because of the strong immune system of your husband, the father and the child are safe. We will just have to keep them under observation for a few days and you will be free to go, your highness. Also, congratulations." He smiles and turns to talk to his colleagues.

I'm shocked by the news, my Benia was poisoned because he was pregnant and my love was pregnant, again. It was our second baby, which meant that we would be separated soon enough. But went to sit down a bit before going to see him.

I would be a father again. This baby was the reason why my husband was poisoned and why he would disappear later. I couldn't escape the emotions of anger and fear building inside of me.

I took a deep breath in and got from my seat, to see my beloved.

___

"How are you feeling?" I  put a kiss on his lips and sat next to his bed.

"I'm pretty shocked, as I should be. You impregnated me, again. The doctor said, "The baby is three weeks old. It must have been the official trip to mirotake, you were a little too happy." He sighs, frowning at me. I feel a lump building in my throat. "Way too happy, I told you to take your pill that day. I always do, remember the pills are my only effective if we both take it." Yes, roll his eyes and I scratch the back of my neck.

"Yes, I'm so sorry. I should have been careful." I say kissing his hands in an attempt to beg for forgiveness. He put my face between his fingers, forcing me to look at him.

"Heskel, we're going to have our second baby!" He screams happily, giving one good kiss.

"Faiza, are you okay?" He asks in a worried tone. "Aren't you happy?"

"Yes of course but the oracle..."

"Stop talking about that, Heskel. Stop worrying so much, we have to enjoy the time we have together and stop thinking about the inevitable, okay?"He caresses my cheek and kisses me tenderly, with love and gentleness," Now come and hug me before everyone comes. "I got on the tiny bed and spooned him, putting my left arm around him.

"I love you, my life." I say in his ear.

"And, I love you so much too, my world."

_____

Four months later, on a sunny afternoon. I was working in the garden, on the terrace of our summer mansion. Benia-Ewan was sleeping next to me on a deck chair, under a parasol with a very light shirt on and open, leaving to see a small bump. I started at him lovingly, right before our toddler came asking :

"Father, why is daddy's belly so round and mine and yours is not?" A really tiny Rashida, with round and cute hands on her father's belly.

"Well, Fazia, you are going to be a big sister. Remember?" My sleepy husband responded, caressing his bump in Rashida's hand. "He is here, inside."

"Ooh, yes I remember." She smiles, "But when will it come out?" She looks at Benia with her big eyes.

"Soon enough honey, soon enough."

___

And soon our baby came out. He was so small , a premature baby.

He was fragile and had to stay in the hospital for a month before he could come home. Our family came almost every day to support us.

The birth and seeing our babies growing up were the best moments of my life...
