Broken

'Lia was probably hiding in that room and the beast sniffed her out, killed her, and hid there when the reinforcements from New York arrived'

'She died because of that dog, but more importantly, she died because of America!'

'Just like Sergeant Skull said… Only the useful and gifted are Americans… People like Lia, Dad, and Mom were never Americans, they were slaves!'

'The son of a slave will be the one to tear this country apart and set it ablaze. I will make them feel what I feel, but first I will start by tearing this dog apart!'

Thud!

Lucius broke into a sprint, charging at the beast with murderous eyes. In response, the beast lunged forward, swiping its claws at him.

WOOF!

Bang!

Sergeant Skull leaned on his jeep with a cigar in his mouth as he waited patiently for Lucius to come out. He was certain everyone in the town died so he was trying to give the young lad some space to mourn his sister, however, the bang and sound of a clash made him regret that decision instantly!

"Get up there now, keep the boy safe at all costs!" He promptly dished out orders, but before anyone could react, a part of the building shattered and two figures shot out.

Bang!

The Pitbull beast was the first to shoot out, and a smaller figure chased after it like a missile.

"I'LL KILL YOU!" Lucius bellowed as he threw another punch.

BOOM!

The Pitbull hurled back like a missile, slamming into the ground and raising a small cloud of dust, while Luke landed some distance away, falling on one knee.

Bam.

"Damn." Sergeant Skull couldn't help but whistle at the scene.

GRRR!

The beast got to its feet and quickly rose, its once amused gaze replaced with fear. It quickly turned to run but behind it were three vans filled with soldiers armed to the teeth and ahead of it was a young boy, coated in gray-green earth, walking towards it at a slow but steady pace.

WOOF!

Without hesitation, it sprang forward, charging toward Lucius. Its chances of getting past him were higher than dealing with the troops behind. Its action prompted the soldiers to raise their weapons, but surprisingly, Sergeant Skull signaled them to stop with a strange look on his face.

"We will get involved if the lad needs help. For now, I would like to see what he's got." He said.

"Are you saying we should let this kid fight a level 3 threat beast alone?" A soldier asked, unsure if the Sergeant's idea was correct.

"Did I stutter?" Sergeant Skull glared at the soldier, causing him to shiver and step back.

"N-No S-Sir!" the soldier stuttered.

"Since you have so much time on your hands, go up that floor and retrieve his sister's corpse" Sergeant Skull snorted disdainfully.

"Yes Sir!" The soldier screamed and ran out, but the Sergeant paid no attention to him, his gaze was fixed on the fight.

Thud!

Watching the beast charge at him, Lucius did not attempt to dodge or flee. He just stood and waited for it to arrive with his arms crossed around his chest.

Bang!

The beast smashed into him, causing him to slide back as it kept pushing with all its might but against, Lucius, its strength was lacking.

Grrr!

Seeing it couldn't overpower the boy, the beast took a different approach and quickly opened its mouth, revealing bloodied fangs as it bit down on Lucius's shoulder. With its size, it could easily bite off his left shoulder and hand in one bite, but as its fang pierced through his earth armor, it met his skin which seemed to be thicker than the armor.

"Ouch…" Lucius said with a blank expression in reaction to its attack.

Its fangs stabbed into his skin but failed to penetrate deep, causing only small strings of blood to flow down his injuries.

"How does it feel to meet a human who can fight back?" Lucius curled his fists and struck ruthlessly at its exposed belly.

Bam!

Painful wimping sounds could be heard as the beast tried to pull away, but Lucius caught it by the hand and held its shoulder with the other hand.

Rip!

The faces of the soldier's concocted in horror as they watched Lucius rip out the forearm of the beast.

Arf-Arf!

It cried out, limping back, leaving a bloody trail as it retreated with a pleading look on its face.

"I am sure Lia begged for mercy like you are doing now." Lucius said as he tossed aside the forearm of the beast while walking toward it.

"She just wanted to live a happy life with her big brother. Eat dry bread and porridge with her big brother… IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!" Lucius bellowed furiously.

Seeing the human had no intention of sparing it, the beast lunged forward one more time, trying to bite his waist, but Lucius caught its mouth, holding them apart with his bare hands.

Rip!

Arf-Arf!

The cries of the beast were muffled as its jaw fell loosely, revealing a tear reaching the edges of its jaw. A mixture of terror and pain was written all over its face, but Lucius was far from done. He grabbed it and pulled it into his knee, forcing its face to cave in while its eyes bulged out.

Rip!

He ripped out both its long ears, but at this point the beast couldn't cry out anymore. With a swiping kick, Lucius kicked the beast off its feet, causing it to fall on its back and expose its belly.

Ignoring the horrified gaze of the solider's present, Lucius climbed on the belly of the massive dog before plunging his hand in and pulled out its stomach first.

Bam!

He plunged his hand into its belly again and pulled out its intestines while watching the beast shiver silently in pain. One after the other he emptied the content of its stomach.

Bam!

Lucius plunged his hand into its chest and pulled out it's beating heart, only then did the beast's body stiffen as it happily embraced death.

"Did you see that little sister? I killed the big bad dog for you." Lucius said with a crazed smile on his face, a body soaked in blood and a beating heart in his hand.
