Lei Fei's Plan

The Great Walk began as a steady trickle of people but quickly grew into a flood as civilians from the outskirts of New York marched toward the city gates.

Battered by hardships and emboldened by Marquis Ashwood's speeches, they came in droves. Families with children, laborers with tools slung over their backs, and soldiers mingled among the crowd.

Some carried handmade signs demanding justice and safety while others marched in eerie silence.

At the gates of New York, towering walls of reinforced steel and concrete loomed above them, guarded by rows of soldiers armed with rifles.

A tense energy filled the air as the crowd halted, staring up at the gate. For a moment, all was still. Then, a chant began.

"Open the gates!"

"Let us in!"

"This is our city too!"
