God knows where he was dragging me, but his tight grip was hurting my wrist.
I whined, "It hurts...it hurts."
He abruptly stopped and released my wrists. "I am so sorry, Ashira," he said, his face contorted as he stared at her wrist.
"It's okay..." I was pretty unhurt, and I thought it was great how he spelled my name, Ashira, sounding like a flower garden.
With regret on his face and his warm hand still caressing her wrist, he says, "I should not have left you there." He was genuinely acquainted with my brother; their personalities were exactly the same.
He was wrinkling his adorable face because he had left me a while ago, but was not that the same guy who spoke to me as though I had stolen his breakfast a few minutes ago?
Please tell me where my class is. It is unbelievable that after nearly an hour at this school, I still have not found my classroom. I glanced at the schedule and saw that English language was the first period—how unfortunate that I had missed it!
"We are almost at break," As he was finishing his sentence, there was a loud siren blaring, and students began to leave the classroom in groups of one, two, and three. "It is break time," he stated sternly.
Break time! I smirked and roamed my eyes over the sheet in my hand. It looks like she was in mystery school.
He said, "Let us head to the cafeteria," and he moved ahead of me.
"Cafeteria...?"
"Do you need something?" I inquired, perplexed. Even though I knew it was break time, I mistakenly believed that it was only for the students to take a rest from their studies.
"Do not you want to have lunch?" he inquired in a startled tone, as though having lunch at this time of day was customary.
She had only eaten two hours ago and was now supposed to have lunch. Was she a beastly gluttony?
"Do not you feel hungry?" he asked again.
With a smile, I said, "No thanks...I had breakfast at 7am."
"What the fuck?! 7 a.m.? He looked down at his Rolex. "That was nearly three hours ago!"
"Yeah, but I did not feel like eating, and I thought lunch was something post-meridian."
"That is not a valid excuse!" He shot back, still astonished.
Compared to my brothers, they had an infinitely greater appetite.
"Ashira, you ought to eat more..." He nodded as if he could see right through my head with an X-ray.
I rolled my eyes. They had not even completed three hours in class when they all left for what they called lunch. languid bones.
"Kailan..." came from behind us in a voice I knew well. Kailan was also familiar to Raphael!
Woah!! Talk about feeling excluded—I was the only Wade who did not know the redhead.
"Hello, Sweetheart." Raphael gave me a quick back hug.
"Hey, Adam," a smiling Kailan said. "Your sister is stunning and lovely."
Adam...he even recognized his pet name. I felt so foreign now.
"Stunning, huh?" With a raised eyebrow, Raphael gazed at me intently and said, "Lovely...?" He squinted his eyes and gave his chin a few finger strokes before looking back at Kailan.
"Oh no, dude, you really should get your eyes examined." He winked at me.
"Raphael!" When I pouted, Kailan started laughing. And when I heard him compliment me, I could not help but blush. Have I heard correctly?
"Dummie, would he have described you as ugly!" Never could my mind resist jolting me out of my Disneyland delusions.
Maybe he was just being polite, but I was stunning, so Duh!!
After much glaring on my part, Raphael finally withdrew his hand from my waist as we were making our way to the cafeteria.
"How did you find the first class?" He asked eagerly. His initial hours at school appeared to be enjoyable for him. Lucky for him.
Just as I started to tell him about my ordeal, a slender girl with artificial green hair that reached her shoulders accidentally bumped into mine.
"Move aside! feeble human!" They were muttering to themselves as she snapped, walking off with a short, round girl whose hair was pulled back in a ponytail.
The girl who hit me grimaced and exclaimed, "I hate humans!"
"I detest those feeble, filthy creatures!" her companion exclaimed, casting a disgusted glance at her before continuing their stroll.
"What are they doing with her?" As they hissed, another small girl asked the guy next to her.
Since Raphael and I were both new students here, why was not he receiving dagger looks as well?
perhaps his appearance.
Ashira tried to ignore the stern looks she was receiving from everyone and followed the guys to the cafeteria, telling herself, "Ignore them Ashy...they are just weirdos."
They arrived at the school to find a packed cafeteria full of students consuming a wide range of foods. I scowled at the sight before me. What made the cafeteria's service methods different?
The scene was unexpected and incredibly confusing. For some people in particular, they had a very roomy and comfortable section; waiters were arranged in a line to take orders, and they even served snow crab with all the fixings and a caramel frappe—OMG! Was that a bowl of steaming soup floating with bits of chicken and vegetables? For weeks, I had been craving little sponge cakes, and the girl who happened to bump into me was indulging in one. My gaze quickly shifted to the second side of the cafeteria, where there appeared to be a lot of activity and people crammed in. However, it was actually because there were so few seats that they had to cram themselves into a small area. Waiters did not try to serve them, and....
Oh!!! In actuality, some people brought food from home rather than having it served in the cafeteria. You could not hold them responsible, though, because from the look of it, the food they served there was obviously subpar in terms of both quantity and quality, and even though I detested to say it, that is where we were sent.
Myself and Raphael, that is. After being pointed in the direction of the other, Kailain refused and walked with us past numerous vacant seats before eventually securing a table.
"You don't have to do this Kay..." Raphael apologized with a smile.
What does not he have to do? Eat with us??
Looking over my shoulder, I surmised that perhaps they were the offspring of powerful and pampered politicians, and the presence of that slender girl that bumped into me confirmed my suspicions.
Kailain...he seemed wealthy and powerful. Given his previous conversation with the principal, it is possible that he is the only child of a powerful politician.
Good one, Ashira... wealthy comrade.
"Adam, it is okay..." A waiter came to our table right away after he raised his hand. "From now on, you will be my personal waiter as I will be seated here."
There was a great gasp from the cafeteria, so full of shock that the waiter in front of us gasped as well.
The cafeteria fell silent as if it were a cemetery.
"MY DOGS NEED BONES!" The students snap out of their stunned state and return to what they were doing when Kailan yells at them.
Once more, the once-quiet Cafeteria burst into noise.
"Ashira, what would you like?" In his customary manner, Kailan inquired.
"Um..." I swear, as soon as I took a quick look at the menu that was handed to me, I wanted everything—salad, steak, mashed potatoes, ginger bread...
"Do not be polite, Ashy..." Raphael's bright expression was too obvious to conceal due to his excitement. He was already taking down a complete list of orders.
