As he opened his eyes, Shawn found himself beside Ava, lying without a shirt. He didn't know how he got his hands inside Ava's undershirt. He had been squeezing her breasts, and he thought he was just dreaming all night.
"Let it go, let it go!" Shawn screamed in his mind, but his hand wouldn't follow his orders. He was trying to resist the temptation, but the size and softness wouldn't let him escape.
Slowly, Ava opened her eyes when she felt something was wrong. Her face grew red after seeing Shawn's hands squeeze her breasts. "What—what are you doing?" She tried to ask in a normal tone.
"I'm sorry, Ava." But before Shawn could say those words, Ava had already stood up, and again, the shape of her palm left a reddish mark on his face as she slapped him without saying anything. It created a loud blast that pierced the silence of the morning.
"You pervert! Never ever sleep beside me again!" Ava shouted before she walked out of the room. What a fantastic morning he had given her.
Shawn was left speechless. His mind couldn't process everything. He had never been that horny in the past, so he wondered why he became like that.
He couldn't remember anything that happened yesterday. It was all blurred when he thought about Ava's reaction. She looked so cute in Shawn's eyes every time she lost her temper.
In the kitchen, the old man was curious about what happened as Ava sat down on the chair by the table as if she were upset. He thought something must have happened for her to act like that.
The old man knew that Ava and Shawn slept together in the same room last night, perhaps because they were so tired after what happened yesterday that they even forgot to sleep separately.
"How's your journey in the Spade Kingdom, Ava?" the old man broke the silence. Just like Ash, he was also excited to know how Ava's venture to the Spade Kingdom had been, but it seemed like she didn't want to tell them. "Are you upset because I didn't go there with you?"
"No! I mean, it's not your fault. It's just, I couldn't believe it, it really hurts to know that your close friend had been betraying you for a long time. I thought he was real, but my brother was right, I shouldn't have stayed with him," Ava said.
The old man knew what Ava meant. He also noticed that Allen always disappeared whenever he would ask about his parents or his identity. Now that the truth is revealed, he just wishes that Ava could find someone better.
"That's why we should be careful. We shouldn't trust people; even if we know them for a long time, they might just be hiding their true colors," the old man advised.
Behind the door, Shawn was eavesdropping on their conversation. He heard that Allen planned it all. He set up Ava in their kingdom, but he didn't succeed in making her his slave because he came to save her.
"How about Lynx? Did you find out something about the curse?" the old man continued.
"She's actually the queen of the Spade Kingdom already, but not voluntarily; I think she was forced by Caleb to serve him like a slave," Ava replied, touching her forehead anxiously.
"Sister, won't it be difficult now that you've managed to escape? I think they will chase after you," Ash interrupted, energetic as always.
"Your brother's right, there's a possibility that they would plan to attack us after what happened. We don't know how they feel to have their plans ruined after years of planning," the old man reasoned.
"Don't worry, guys," Shawn interrupted as he hauled his feet towards them. He was so intrigued by their conversation that he even forgot what happened this morning.
Ava rolled her eyes at him. She didn't want him to get involved in this matter because, as far as she could remember, he always makes trouble. Most of all, she didn't want the man she loved to get hurt by her own enemies in the first place.
"Do you have any plans, Shawn?" the old man asked. "You've become so powerful already. I think you'll be able to save the whole kingdom if they are planning to attack us."
Ava rolled her eyes again. She didn't want to hear those words from her master. The truth is, she was also jealous that Shawn had surpassed. Her admiration for him grew even more.
"Don't flatter me, geezer. I'm just doing my best to be the best. I still remember what I've said—that I want to be immortal. I, myself, am also amazed at how much I've grown," Shawn replied boastfully.
"Stop that crap. Just tell us your plans," Ava interrupted, somewhat rudely. She didn't know why she said those words too, but every time Shawn had a plan, it would always succeed, so she would be glad to hear from him and be a part of it.
"I don't really have plans. I just want to know the whole story before I'll act. I think it's always better to plan our next moves," Shawn said.
Ava rolled her eyes for the third time. How rude of him to ruin her expectations just like that? She didn't know when she started expecting something great from him.
"So, what do you want to know?" the old man asked, willing to tell Shawn what he knew.
"I heard from you that the demon lord is going to attack us. Isn't that a bigger problem that we should focus on first?" Shawn replied.
"Exactly, I wanna fight the demon lord too," Ash interrupted, wondering if he could also fight the demon lord, not because he's believed to be strong but because he wanted to avenge his parents.
"No, you can't," Ava said. "Only the heroes can defeat the demon lord, so don't even try."
Ash's expression became sad. But then he remembered how an adventurer can become a hero. Isn't Shawn capable of that? He was sent from another world, which is exactly the characteristic required to be a hero.
"Isn't Shaw?" Ash hadn't finished his words when Ava covered his mouth, preventing him from saying what he knew about being a hero.
"No way. I wouldn't let him fight the demon lord for us. It's our duty to protect the land; that's the main reason why we built this adventurer's guild, right?" Ava asked worriedly.
The truth is, Ava couldn't imagine her life if Shawn got killed by the demon lord, just like what happened to her parents. She knew it sounded selfish, but she didn't want to lose someone special again.
The time they spent together, through ups and downs, she didn't want those moments to become memories. So no matter what would happen, she would always try to protect her beloved man.
Shawn, on the other hand, already knew these things. He had read it in a papyrus at the guild before. He knew that, in order to be called a hero, one must be from another world.
Perhaps he had already found his purpose in this world, and that was to save everyone from the demon lord. How great it would be if he had taken on that responsibility.
He had never been a hero his whole life, either in the past or now, having forgotten that he was the one who saved his friend, and perhaps that was the reason why he was given this chance to prove something to himself.
Once a demon lord transformed into a dragon, he would be invincible; no one could defeat him, not even the heroes, so it would be necessary to kill him in his human form. But how? No one ever knew his identity or where he lived.
Shawn was curious about how to defeat the demon Lord, so he decided to make use of the day to ask around. With his new power, he could easily communicate with everyone.
He didn't want Ava to get worried about him, so he didn't tell her where he was going. He asked Ash to stay with his sister, but he insisted on tagging along, so he just let him.
