CHAPTER 20:WHAT IS THIS?

Amna was sitting in class, trying to focus on the lesson, when Iqra walked in, her eyes fixed on Amna with a menacing glare. Amna's heart sank, knowing that Iqra was trouble.

Iqra strutted over to Amna's desk, her voice dripping with malice. "So, Amna, I saw you with Shahmeer this morning. Think you're special, don't you?"

Amna stood her ground, her voice firm and bold. "Iqra, you're so obsessed with Shahmeer, it's pathetic. He doesn't even know you exist, and even if he did, he wouldn't be interested in someone as shallow and mean as you."

The class gasped at Amna's boldness, and Iqra's face turned red with rage. "How dare you!" she spat, her voice trembling with anger.

Amna smirked, her eyes flashing with confidence. "Oh, I dare. And you know why? Because I'm not afraid of you, Iqra. You're a bully, and bullies are just cowards who can't handle being ignored."

Iqra's eyes narrowed, and she raised her hand to slap Amna, but before she could make contact, Shahmeer appeared out of nowhere, his eyes cold and detached.

"Hey, get lost," he said, his voice firm and rude. "No one wants you here."

Iqra's face twisted in anger, but then suddenly, her expression changed. She fell to her knees, her eyes pleading with Shahmeer.

"Shahmeer, please," she begged, her voice trembling. "I'll do anything for you. Just love me, please."

Shahmeer's expression remained unchanging, his eyes cold and unyielding. "get lost. Now."

Iqra fell to her knees, her eyes pleading with Shahmeer. "Shahmeer, please," she begged, her voice trembling. "I'll do anything for you. Just love me, please."

Shahmeer's expression remained unchanging, his eyes cold and unyielding. He didn't even glance at Iqra, his gaze fixed on Amna instead.

"Amna, are you okay?" he asked, his voice firm and detached. "Did she hurt you?"

Amna shook her head, her eyes wide with surprise. "N-no, Shahmeer. I'm fine."

Shahmeer's eyes lingered on Amna's face for a moment before he turned away, his expression unchanging. "Good. Let's get out of here."

Iqra's face twisted in anger, but she knew better than to mess with Shahmeer. She stormed out of the classroom, leaving Amna feeling relieved and grateful for Shahmeer's protection. After this Shahmeer walked beside Amna in silence, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. Amna couldn't help but steal glances at him, her heart still racing from the confrontation with Iqra.

As they turned onto Amna's street, Shahmeer finally spoke up. "Amna, I'm sorry about what happened back there. I know I wasn't very... diplomatic."

Amna shook her head, her eyes wide with surprise. "No, Shahmeer, it's okay. You didn't have to do that for me."

Amna felt a warmth spread through her chest at his words, and she smiled slightly. "Thanks, Shahmeer. That means a lot to me."

They reached Amna's house, and Shahmeer stopped at the door. "I'll see you tomorrow, Amna. Take care."

Amna nodded, feeling a little disappointed that he wasn't going to stay and talk longer. But she knew Shahmeer wasn't the type for small talk or lingering goodbyes.

As she watched him walk away, she couldn't help but wonder what lay beneath his cold and detached exterior. And why he seemed to care so much about her well-being, when he barely knew her.
