Bullets were flying and blood of my team members painted the floor and me as she walked forward. Her half mask covering her face like a black sheet in the night. Every step she took her boots thuded against the hardwood of the hotel lobby.
"Seems you survived and I'll say your quite cute too I love the pink hair."
Her voice was like death itself as she moved the corpse of my team member off my legs. Her deep blue eyes were like an ocean strong enough to drown you just by looking into them and her trademark short white hair was like a frost snow that could freeze you in an instant.
"I heard you are the girl who needed to join to make money for your sister. Quite the noble cause but this may just be how you die if you don't start talking."
She held her signature FN P90 in her left hand while holding a M9 baretta 92 fs to my head with her right. Her black cloak billowing in the wind coming in from the now bullet ridden front doors and shattered windows.
"You know you could die if you don't use a surgery kit to fix you leg and stop the bleeding in you arm? But you can't since I'm here but I'm not all bad, I'll make you a deal!"
Her tome was demanding as she stared at me with those cold eyes, as if I didn't really have a choice. I felt relief as she lowered the gun and picked me up, carrying me upstairs as prisoners were coming near to see what happened.
She laid me down on the stairs and tossed me a bag as I groaned in pain.
"Patch yourself up and don't even think about going anywhere and try to kill me and well, let's just say your sister will never survive or see you ever again. Understood?
All I could manage was a pained groan, and a nod. I knew better than to fight her, she was the demon of the dark zone. The White Shadow, they called her in the announcements.
I didn't have time to think about what she said I opened the bag and found a surgery kit, some bandages, a morphine drink and pills, and some -O blood shots.
The gunshots and screaming were loud but not as loud as what she had said to me earlier. No one has survived a fight with Jess before and her sparing people was never a thing. So why did she choose to spare and help me, what kind of deal does she want to make? I knew nearly nothing except for one thing, that whatever this deal is... I have no choice but to accept it.
...Time flew and after what felt like minutes, the gunshots stopped and the screaming of men and women was silenced and I heard the same boots making their way to me. The thud seemed heavier this time and as she came around the corner I saw her once nearly empty backpack now full of supplies l, with guns attached to the sides and the tags of my former team members attached to them.
"Seems you know how to listen and seems you're still alive, that's good. Now since you are fully back to our world and conscious how about we get to business quick because we have approximately 22 minutes to exfil before the gates close and the choppers leave us for dead. Look I heard all about your little sob story and why you need the money, and I am here to offer you my help."
"I need 3 things in return, 1. I need your complete and utter loyalty and devotion meaning If I tell you to jump you say how high. 2. You will be my new squad member the people want me to have a duo for views and ratings so I decided on you to help with that and in return I'll give you half my loot and help you with your sister's medical bills. And lastly 3. I want you to be my wife and I know it may sound weird but I've been needing to get married so I decided you would fit perfectly my little bubblegum haired friend!"
I couldn't believe my ears. The 27 year old top dog of the dark zone just asked me to marry her??? Me, a 22 year old college dropout who has a huge debt to pay, and a sister to care for. I could see the views shooting up seeing as her camera on her chest armour and gun are still recording. I had to respond but how? I didn't know what to do. Do I tell her no and die leaving my sister to die as well, or do I accept her offer but lose my freedom and chances to marry someone I love?
"I-I-I... I want to still be allowed to see my sister and to have her live with me after she's cured. If you can allow that then I'll accept your terms"
...
As my eyes opened I saw an unfamiliar looking roof. The popcorn ceiling was white and I could smell bacon and eggs. Something I haven't smelled in a while, not since my sister ended up in the hospital. Her cancer was only minor but the treatment was expensive. So in order to pay for it I remember cutting back on food to the point I nearly starved myself to pay the bills. I tried to stand up but my body was sore and I realized I'm still groggy from waking up so suddenly. I remember looking around the room I was in and noticing all my things placed around the room and the blankets were more comfortable then I've ever had.
Then it all hit me, the memories of the game and the deal we made and how I lost consciousness after she accepted my terms. As I realized the situation the door to my room began to open...
