Mishka finds a confidant at work

Back at home, Mishka thought about Myrtle’s remarks about her singing again. “There’s something about it that irritates her. What can it be?” Mishka asked herself as she dressed into pyjamas.

“There must be something unnerving about it because she can’t really say that it’s my voice that’s too loud,” Mishka muttered to herself as she brushed through her hair.

“Maybe it interferes with the power of her chants? Then Gillian and I should find out how Grandma’s chants really work. What’s the power behind them? Can it only be healing?” Mishka asked herself.

“Anyway, I had a talk with Gillian, now I must get her mother’s opinion,” Mishka told herself as she put out the light and snuggled into bed.

Mishka phoned Joan as soon as she arrived at her office the following morning.

“Hi, how nice to hear from you again. Gillian told me about the interesting party you’re going to on Saturday,” Joan remarked as soon as she answered Mishka’s call.
