Gillian gets into Clara's mind

Gillian sat on the couch in Clara’s bedroom. The bedroom looked quite ordinary, but too smart for a maid.

“But then, after so many years of loyalty, she deserves this. In fact, with being loyal to someone like Myrtle she needs an entire cottage to herself,” Gillian told herself as she listened to Clara’s explanations about how important the proper shade of hair colour was.

“It should match your skin tone, but it should also enhance your skin tone,” Clara was saying. “It changes the way that the world looks at you, so it changes your luck,” she added with her brows raised to emphasize her statement.

“Wow, so much knowledge but she chooses to work for one person?” Gillian asked herself. “No, there must be something else keeping her here and it can’t be the cute bedroom. A pretty bedroom in a stressful environment is not worth the trouble,” she continued to think as she watched Clara speak.
